To tell you how much I love my period pants!

Been using them for a few months now and cant believe it took me this long! It's literally just you pull on your underwear and you're done. I don't even know why you'd bother faffing around with mooncups etc when this exists, let alone pads.

I will admit that if I have an event or something I would still use tampons just because I've been using those for so long I have confidence in them whereas I still need to get used to the underwear. But for day to day use I absolutely love these, they almost make me forget I have my period

Any other converts?

I don't have periods anymore but can't see how they would work. I used to have very heavy periods and even tampons were no good in the first few days.

QuestionableMouse · 17/01/2021 19:01

I'm fat of arse and most don't come in my size.

Littlewhitedove2 · 17/01/2021 19:02

I honestly can’t see how they work? Is there a pad sewn inside? I soak through a pad almost every hour in the first 2 days?

georgarina · 17/01/2021 19:03

How often do you have to change them??

Careylisa · 17/01/2021 19:04

Sorry if this is a silly question but how long can you wear the pants for in a day??

QuestionableMouse · 17/01/2021 19:04

They're lined with absorbent materials to catch any flow.

Indecisive12 · 17/01/2021 19:04

Happy with my moon cup. Mines lasted 8 years so far (should check if it should be replaced) and don’t need to wear pads at all with it, just empty every 12 hours. So much more comfortable than pads and tampons, period pains much better too.

SRK16 · 17/01/2021 19:04

I’m looking to buy some, what are you using? I take it you recommend them 😊

PatchworkElmer · 17/01/2021 19:06

I keep looking at these! Do one pair last all day?

PippinDog · 17/01/2021 19:06

@CutToChase I use them and I’m really surprised how my period pain and cramping has decreased. I use Modibodi.

IHateCoronavirus · 17/01/2021 19:06

Watching with interest. Since having DC I have to double up on super plus tampons and night time towels. Even then on day one and two, I’m changing every hour or so.

Santaiscovidfree · 17/01/2021 19:06

Tmi but do your pubes not get covered in bloody?

SoVeryLost · 17/01/2021 19:07

@QuestionableMouse

I'm fat of arse and most don't come in my size.
Have you looked at Aisle based in the US? They seem to come in a range of sizes.
CutToChase · 17/01/2021 19:07

I would say I have a moderate flow, it used to be pretty light but now is what I assume is normal (aside: dont know why this happened? I'm 34 and it was light until I was about 31).

I change mine three times a day: fresh pair in the morning, fresh pair at around 4, fresh pair when I go to bed.

They literally look and feel like normal pair of pants, but the gusset is reinforced. Basically they feel exactly like normal pants, but in the gusset part, it feels like there are three layers.

The ones I have are seamless. Gory description coming up: the blood is absorbed almost immediately, it never feels "wet", except when it's coming up to time to change. Even when it feels wet, theres no leaking - it just means you need to change them.

Disclaimer: I work from home so I'm not sure how you would go about dealing with changes if you had to go out to work, but I'm sure there are women who do and who have a "system"

IHateCoronavirus · 17/01/2021 19:07

To those of you reporting better pain relief what do you think is relieving the normal level of pain?

CutToChase · 17/01/2021 19:09

@PatchworkElmer
Tbh I could probably get away with just wearing two pairs a day: one up until the evening, and then one overnight. It's just since I work from home I have the luxury of changing with zero hassle so I do

What brand do you use? I would like some, I would still use tampons as I could never use a towel alone and imagine the pants feel the same. It would be just for reassurance on heavy days.

PippinDog · 17/01/2021 19:10

@IHateCoronavirus I’m not sure! Tampons have been uncomfortable for me since having kids, and honestly, the cramping has definitely been less since using the pants. I don’t know why that would be but it’s significant.

Nowmum43 · 17/01/2021 19:11

Do you think you could exercise in them? I run and I do keep thinking about trying them.

Peanutbutterblood · 17/01/2021 19:11

What brand are you using op?I really want some

Nowmum43 · 17/01/2021 19:11

And do you just put them in your normal wash or soak before hand?

Darklingthrush · 17/01/2021 19:11

I love them too. Now that I am wfh I do the same as you OP. When I was actually going out to work I would put them on in the morning with a tampon for the morning and then use just the modibodi in the afternoon. So comfy at night too.

CutToChase · 17/01/2021 19:13

I use Rejeanne since I'm in France, they're French made with lace made in France etc. And come in cute packaging :) www.rejeanne-underwear.com/en/

I think the big brand in the UK is Modi Bodi though (correct me if I'm wrong). There's also a big Australian brand but I forget the name.

Do your research though because there are a LOT of dropshipping companies out there, as I found out!

I love mine too!

I bought my sister a set for her Christmas.

One pair lasts me 12 hours. A new pair in the morning and one before bed. Job done. In fact, once I went to bed drunk and forgot to put on a fresh pair and I still didn’t leak. Sometimes I go to the toilet and get a shock because I forget I’m on my period. I tried squeezing a piece of toilet tissue against the gusset and got only a feint trace of blood. No different than wearing a pad in that respect.

I use modi-body.

IHateCoronavirus · 17/01/2021 19:15

Ooh I’m so tempted. DD is coming up to the age when they might be a good investment for her too. I hated having my period at school. Those awful plastic chairs always made me feel as if I had leaked! Blush
