Hand hold please - on train trying to rush to London to get to my dad before he dies

Dad had a heart attack on Friday night, heart was not beating on and off for 2 and a half hours :( he had surgery but brain damage is bad and meds are no longer keeping him alive. Because of covid and having 3 kids I wasn't sure I'd be able to get to see him. I'm now on my way hoping I make it in time, we're weren't allowed in the hospital until we had the call. I just wish I'd come earlier but I don't drive and knew I'd be frozen just waiting outside. Also was told it could be hours days or weeks. I'm so angry at myself and just hope I make it in time. He was only 66 and healthy. Hand hold please lovely mumneters this train really isn't moving fast enough

Thinking of you - I did the same journey last week (on my birthday - he held off till just after midnight) and while I'm glad I did it and my brother in all honesty I think it was more for us (and my mum) than for him - he knows we love him and always did

I’m so sorry your going through this.

I did this dash when my dad had a massive stroke. But I had to get from London to Australia. Me dad had the stroke Monday morning and he held on until Wednesday for me to get there and say goodbye.

I'm sure your dad will do all he can to hang on and if he can't, he'll have loved you dashing to his side. 💕 Good luck 💕

I've been on that train too - thinking of you and hoping you're there in time. As others have said, don't beat yourself up if you're not - somehow, somewhere, he would know you were on your way.

He is in the very best hands there , my darling dad was looked after by them for 10 years following a quad by-pass . They are the best.

It is quite common for people to pass away in the moments someone has left the room for a drink, etc on purpose so it may work the other way too so please don't blame yourself if he has gone before you get there.
