Hand hold please - on train trying to rush to London to get to my dad before he dies

Dad had a heart attack on Friday night, heart was not beating on and off for 2 and a half hours :( he had surgery but brain damage is bad and meds are no longer keeping him alive. Because of covid and having 3 kids I wasn't sure I'd be able to get to see him. I'm now on my way hoping I make it in time, we're weren't allowed in the hospital until we had the call. I just wish I'd come earlier but I don't drive and knew I'd be frozen just waiting outside. Also was told it could be hours days or weeks. I'm so angry at myself and just hope I make it in time. He was only 66 and healthy. Hand hold please lovely mumneters this train really isn't moving fast enough

I've done a late-night, long journey in the same situation and it is truly awful. I hope you get there in time but lots of people's thoughts and love is with you. xx

Lots of love and if you don’t make it the nurses will have told him you were on your way so I promise he would have known you were coming to see him. You couldn’t have left any sooner, you couldn’t have sat outside in a pandemic for days waiting.

I remember that dash, my nana got admitted into hospital one Friday night with pneumonia, I set off for work on Saturday morning and got a phone call off my mum saying get to hospital now.
We had to pick my brother up, tax the car and drop dd off at MILS. DP drove very quickly down the motorway.
As it was we wouldn't have made it anyway, as she passed away before we even set off, but my mum and auntie didn't want to tell anyone before the family got there.

and mine...he knew just how much he meant to me though and I sat with him awhile and told him all over again
