Hand hold please - on train trying to rush to London to get to my dad before he dies

Dad had a heart attack on Friday night, heart was not beating on and off for 2 and a half hours :( he had surgery but brain damage is bad and meds are no longer keeping him alive. Because of covid and having 3 kids I wasn't sure I'd be able to get to see him. I'm now on my way hoping I make it in time, we're weren't allowed in the hospital until we had the call. I just wish I'd come earlier but I don't drive and knew I'd be frozen just waiting outside. Also was told it could be hours days or weeks. I'm so angry at myself and just hope I make it in time. He was only 66 and healthy. Hand hold please lovely mumneters this train really isn't moving fast enough Blush

I truly hope you get there to see your dad. I had a very similar situation, the 5hr journey on the train was truly horrendous. Hugs from me

Flowers Be with him in spirit now, from wherever you are.
laudete · 17/01/2021 17:39

Whether you arrive in time or not, it was all the years of your life with him that mattered to your dad - not just the last 5 minutes. He'll know how hard you tried on this journey.

Wishing you speedy trains and no traffic. x

Oh OP, I'm so sorry you are losing your dad. I hope you make it in time but please, don't best yourself up if you don't. Its all the years before now that you've loved him that are the most important and he won't forget. Sending best wishes ❤

Godspeed to your father, and blessings to you, OP.

Like many other posters on this thread, I’ve made that journey. Flying up the M1 in my little MG Metro!

Managed to get a speeding ticket as well.

I had twelve hours holding my mother’s hand and am forever thankful. Please God you make it. 💞
