Hand hold please - on train trying to rush to London to get to my dad before he dies

Dad had a heart attack on Friday night, heart was not beating on and off for 2 and a half hours :( he had surgery but brain damage is bad and meds are no longer keeping him alive. Because of covid and having 3 kids I wasn't sure I'd be able to get to see him. I'm now on my way hoping I make it in time, we're weren't allowed in the hospital until we had the call. I just wish I'd come earlier but I don't drive and knew I'd be frozen just waiting outside. Also was told it could be hours days or weeks. I'm so angry at myself and just hope I make it in time. He was only 66 and healthy. Hand hold please lovely mumneters this train really isn't moving fast enough

What hospital are you going to? Sometimes tube is quicker than taxi. have a look at Citymapper app it will tell you which way it thinks will be faster

Don't be angry with yourself, these are very difficult times and we have enough to deal with without beating yourself up.

Thank you all so much. Typing that out really helped with the journey. I'm getting ready to run to the tube when I get off at st Pancras in 5 mins. Will be quicker on the tube then in a taxi as I've got to get to Hammersmith hospital (East Acton tube station) which will be a nightmare above ground. Will book an Uber from the tube to the hospital when I'm nearly there x

Whatever happens, remember it's not the end that matters but everything that has brought you there. Your dad will know you love him, you've had a lifetime of love and memories together. Much thoughts to you, your dad and your family .

Where (what station) are you getting into and what hospital do you need to travel to?
