Just that really. I neither like nor dislike him I don't feel any emotion towards him.
AIBU to ask why so many people on here hate/dislike Boris Johnson?

Hate the way he lies, lies, lies, repeat ad infinitum.

He clearly has no idea how the ordinary man on the street is struggling to survive these lockdowns.

The fact he cannot be faithful to any woman he has been with speaks volumes. He certainly gets through them.Wonder who will be next, because Carrie won’t be his last.

He is way out of his depth, couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery.

TwilightToStarlight · 08/01/2021 18:20

I hate the current government because of their handling of the pandemic.

I was very against Brexit, but that's why people voted him in, so I can't hate the PM for that. I hate David Cameron for being so arrogant as to offer the referendum in the first place and to ignore suggestions to make it a referendum which couldn't be decided on just a few percent majority vote.

It's like that line in the Batman movie; The Joker is just the mad dog, you were the one who let him out of his cage, (or words to that effect). I think boris is the mad dog...or maybe Brexit Britain is the mad dog. Confused by my own analogy but whatever Grin.

GintyMcGinty · 08/01/2021 18:22

@UrAWizHarry *"Authentic"

Of all the words you could use to describe Boris, that's at the very bottom of the list. He's made a career of presenting a bumbling, lovable fool persona whilst being nothing like that in reality.*

I've met him in reality that is how I found him. Authentic. That is my personal experience.

TwilightToStarlight · 08/01/2021 18:23

Their latest move has been possibly the worst one; 'closing' the schools on paper and then making it almost impossible for people not to send their kids in. The injustice to children who are not the chosen ones (children of keyworkers) is abhorrent. No wonder they don't notice though, seeing as most of them got into positions of power by being born into the right sort of family. I fucking despise them and what they are doing. No, I wont moderate my language. They are despicable.

ginandbearit · 08/01/2021 18:24

Because he's an ocean going liar , coward and opportunist who would , while making you laugh , lift your wallet , seduce your daughter and sell your house from under you and make you feel he's done you a favour .
An absolutely corrupt , buyable and spineless shit..wonder how he'll cope when his mentor and role model finally slithers away from the White House ...

UniversalFlangeAdaptor · 08/01/2021 18:24

I won't hate, but I dislike the people who voted for him just as much as him. None of the pro-Boris posters on here can give a single valid reason for voting him in, except Brexit and ripping the country in half, other than "I like him".

We had plenty of opportunity to assess his very dodgy persona before the election. Eton accent, misogynistic fuckwittery, corruption and incoherent waffle obviously a turn-on for some people.

Smiledwiththerisingsun · 08/01/2021 18:25

Do you vote op?

bellinisurge · 08/01/2021 18:26

Because he's a useless waste of space second rate journalist.
And a piece of shit

Bluethrough · 08/01/2021 18:30

I've met him in reality that is how I found him. Authentic. That is my personal experience

He knows how to win over a crowd, say the right things and engage with people.
Just like a timeshare salesman or Donald Trump

Perhaps it's because, like my father, he deserted (some) of his children that i don't like him.

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 08/01/2021 18:31

He’s a misogynistic, pretentious gobshite.

And I’m not anti Tory. There are some Conservatives I admire and some Labour I loathe but Boris is a waste of skin.

I don’t object to people being rich but I do object to the wealthy selling themselves as anti establishment figures or men of the people. He’s basically a better spoken version of Donald Trump.

I don’t know if it’s already been quoted but his housemaster at Eton summarised perfectly exactly what he was like back in 1982 -
‘’Boris really has adopted a disgracefully cavalier attitude to his classical studies . . . Boris sometimes seems affronted when criticised for what amounts to a gross failure of responsibility (and surprised at the same time that he was not appointed Captain of the School for next half): I think he honestly believes that it is churlish of us not to regard him as an exception, one who should be free of the network of obligation which binds everyone else.”

bellinisurge · 08/01/2021 18:31

Does authentic mean he's actually as much of a dick as he appears to be.
authentic what?

TornadoOfSouls · 08/01/2021 18:33

He is everything a public servant should not be. Mendacious, arrogant, self-serving, prejudiced, not as clever as he thinks he is, lazy, grabby, horribly disloyal, unfocused, too reliant on others (eg Cummings), cowardly, corrupt, and poor at decision-making.

He doesn’t care about the Union nor about the Good Friday agreement. He has said and written appallingly xenophobic and racist things.

The less said about his personal life, the better - although we all know he abused his position to give his mistress public contracts. Oh yes, and arranged to have someone beaten up.

Yes, I am a leftie, but there are many Conservatives I respect, even admire. I agree with pps’ assessment of Theresa May. Just look at the calibre of BJ’s cabinet. It’s absolutely piss poor. He could have surrounded himself with the best of the party.

Anyone who thinks he’s doing a good enough job ought to take a good look at their standards.

lockeddownandcrazy · 08/01/2021 18:34

I dont hate him, I think he is a typical public school buffoon with the morals of an alley cat (as per upper class of days gone by), and incompetent. He got in because Corbyn was so clearly awful, not because people actually thought he was good.

ShutUpaYourFace · 08/01/2021 18:35

Alas I can't help but like Boris. He has many faults (don't we all) his timing is atrocious but he's still way better than Jeremy & Sir Keir any day!

NorbertMeubles · 08/01/2021 18:37

Because he's a liar, has no morals and is only interested in himself.

rwalker · 08/01/2021 18:41

Because by blaming him people can resolve themselves of any responsibility for there part in the pandemic .
Hand on heart I don't known ANYONE who hasn't bent or broken the rules to some extent . But when thing start going wrong it's everyone else fault (mainly Boris's) but there's

Allispretty · 08/01/2021 18:42

Because he's a lying misogynistic pig...I could go on but really can't be arsed he's quite possibly the worst we've ever had and those who say "oh he's alright he's a bit of a bafoon" need a head shake and their rights to vote removing. We don't need a funny character we need a leader

Rosebel · 08/01/2021 18:42

I don't like him but I do have some sympathy because he obviously didn't expect to be PM in a pandemic.
No he hasn't dealt with it well but don't think anyone else would have done better. Besides whatever he does people bitch and moan.
Close all the schools we kept hearing. He closes the school and people scream what about my child's education?

ListeningQuietly · 08/01/2021 18:42

I was delighted when Maggie Thatcher lost power
BUT
I'd have her back over Johnson any Day

  • she was an internationalist who promoted the single market
  • she was a scientist who understood evidence and data
  • she was not swayed by wanting to please everybody
  • she knew how many kids she had
IntermittentParps · 08/01/2021 18:43

he's still way better than Jeremy & Sir Keir any day!

Corbyn is an embarrassment. Starmer though is clearly well-informed and smart and has some integrity.

Allispretty · 08/01/2021 18:43

@ShutUpaYourFace

This kind of mentality I'm talking about, he's running your fucking country for god sake! No one needs to like their personality you need to like their policies and what they will do for you and your children!

IntermittentParps · 08/01/2021 18:43

I don't like him but I do have some sympathy because he obviously didn't expect to be PM in a pandemic.
My heart breaks for him Hmm
Careful what you wish for, is my opinion on that.

itsgettingweird · 08/01/2021 18:45

I'd say because he's a racist, misogynistic, lying, egotistical twat.

But I think by now you've got that Grin.

I actually didn't mind him before the pandemic. I could tolerate him. But his spineless acts during this and inability to have any empathy with the nation has made he dislike him.

rosie1959 · 08/01/2021 18:49

Why would you dislike people you don’t even know just because they voted differently to you I didn’t vote for Boris as I don’t live in his constituency I voted for our local candidate Even if you chose by party the election was a two horse race the other candidate being Corbyn and being as quite a few of his supporters didn’t vote for him either the election was not that much of a surprise And there’s no way I would have voted for comrade Corbyn the mans a pratt
Soulstirring · 08/01/2021 18:49

We need a leader right now. Someone who can support and convince and control in equal measure. It’s not Boris, he’s just not a leader.
