Why does everyone hate Boris?

There is also a reason Trump became POTUS too but that doesn't mean the electorate were correct in voting in a dangerous fool.

The Mayor has no real power on Covid.

Believe me if Corbyn or Khan were PM with these sorts of death rates behind them, i think them incompetent fuckwits too.

I like Boris. I find him quite refreshing and authentic. And he puts Nicola Sturgeon in her place so that always cheers me up.

I don't agree with all his politics though.

He's actively and obviously corrupt, he's never had a job that wasn't about lying or spin, he's incompetent.

He also claims to be a 'conservative', an ideology which even the most cursory unbiased political research will show is just a pseudo-intellectual justification to be selfish, greedy and cruel.

Funnily he's not actually a conservative, just an amoral, unthinking appetite for money and respect, like an odious pac-man chomping down on coins and fleeing the ghosts of his own monstrous inadequacy. But he serves his conservative masters and is therefore actively against justice, equality and the resurgence of our nation.

Of all the words you could use to describe Boris, that's at the very bottom of the list. He's made a career of presenting a bumbling, lovable fool persona whilst being nothing like that in reality.

My DH dislikes him intensely because of his messy hair and ill fitting suits.

I don't hate him. I do know that he's an incompetent liar though, so yes, my opinion of him is very low.

I don't hate rich people either, many are fair and kind people. What I can't abide is those who have accumulated their wealth by manipulation and scheming, be that through minimising their tax liability or treating their workers like crap.

This is an unprecedented situation which needs a PM who will prioritise the right thing to do over personal popularity.
He got "Brexit Done" by securing a deal which was the reason that he was voted in. He'd ideally hand over to a more competent person whoever that may be. His health would be an understandable excuse to leave office early.

That may even be because the conservatives here are more left leaning than other places.

I think some people hate him because of Brexit and nothing he does will ever make them think anything remotely positive about him. The fact is though he got a lot of votes, the tragic thing is that we can't have reasoned political discourse and ultimately I think that's dangerous. People should be able to listen to my centralists Tory views without presuming I eat kittens and accepting accept I have the right to them, that they are different to what they think but that's ok. But now if you are left of centre you are virtuous, anything else and you're a kitten eater. In the long term society will suffer.
