Just that really. I neither like nor dislike him I don't feel any emotion towards him.
AIBU to ask why so many people on here hate/dislike Boris Johnson?

Do you think Merkel has handled CV better or worse than Johnson?

The pandemic isn't over yet - ask me again in 6 months time.

ListeningQuietly · 08/01/2021 20:57

Clavinova
Last time I looked

 • Merkel was not the UK Prime minister
 • Merkel's country were not leaving the EU
 • Merkel did not have multiple illegitimate children
 • Merkel had not been sacked multiple times for lying

But Johnson HAS

Allispretty · 08/01/2021 20:58

No ones even mentioned who he's put in charge of the vaccine role out! A man with no prior knowledge in nhs logistics or immunology oh but he does have experience of swindling thousands of tax payers money in expenses of which some was spent on caring for his horses....great!

I honestly wonder how well ever get out of this shitstorm with this bunch of toddlers in power

Notmydaughteryoubitch · 08/01/2021 20:59

Because he's a cockwombling cunt badger of the highest order.

AethelsWhiteGoose · 08/01/2021 21:03

Worst prime minister at the worst possible time.

Plus a cabinet of hopeless, talentless, mediocre brexit cheerleaders.

tisnotthedamnseason · 08/01/2021 21:08
@TheWhalrus I've been busy looking after 2 children under 2!! So not had time to watch or read anything.
I come on here for anything I need to know when I get a spare 5 minutes Hmm
This is just bullshit.

If you don't know what's wrong with him and his whole party then you're part of the problem.

Thats a bit of cop out but no more than i expected.

I'd rather not wait until Johnsons death toll is 150k

skidadle · 08/01/2021 21:13

@tisnotthedamnseason not bull shot at all love! I don't have time to sit and read the papers, watch the news or google the prime minister thanks!

Please don't call me love.

I don't believe that you don't have time to occasionally watch or read the news. If you've made a conscious choice not to then at least be honest about it.

I think you're probably trolling.

Mittens030869 · 08/01/2021 21:18

* I fully expected him to go off sick before the pandemic because it was clear then he couldnt do the job. *

Well, actually he did just that. He ended up in intensive care with COVID-19 himself. Because he was stupid enough to shake hands with Covid patients.

I agree with those posters saying that Thatcher would have been the best Tory PM when it comes to dealing with a pandemic. BoJo’s been rubbish all through it. It’s been made worse by the fact that he boasts about how well he and his government have done.

itsgettingweird · 08/01/2021 21:19

@Clavinova

jasjas1973

But Angela Merkel is responsible for almost 40,000 deaths? I don't think she is but apparently you do.

I personally don't think government are responsible for deaths per say. We're in a pandemic.

But they are responsible for higher levels of deaths where they could have been lower with quicker reactions and better decision making.

So 40k deaths in a population of 83m Vs 80k deaths in a population of 66m.

And we know one country acted quicker and has funded its healthcare system better precious to this.

Clavinova · 08/01/2021 21:19

He told us all who he was when he burnt a [£20] note in front of a homeless person.

That appears to be a false allegation made by Labour's Helen Goodman (she lost her County Durham seat in 2019);

www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/boris-johnson-vehemently-denies-claim-by-labour-mp-that-he-burned-ps50-note-in-front-of-homeless-people-a4246736.html

The same Helen Goodman;

An MP who shocked constituents in a village by mixing it up with a place 70 miles away has admitted making a "terrible, terrible mistake".

Helen Goodman praised the area's caves, waterfalls and links to author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle when speaking at the Ingleton Village Fair and Classic Vehicle Show in County Durham.

However, those facts relate to Ingleton in North Yorkshire.

I have morals. I would not leave someone being treated for cancer

Another false allegation -
Boris Johnson and Marina Wheeler separated in the summer of 2018 - MW was diagnosed with cancer in May 2019 - 'cancer-free' diagnosis in August 2019.

skidadle · 08/01/2021 21:21

@tisnotthedamnseason I do out the news on in the background but never really pay attention to it. To tell you the truth I stopped paying attention to the news when COVID came about. I was sick of hearing about it and it made me feel depressed so I tend to not pay attention to it anymore.
I get a lot of info off social media and friend and family.
None of my friends or family really talk about politics. I'm not trolling at all I had a genuine interest into why people disliked him so much seen as though I've never paid that much attention to him

If you CBA to keep up before you had kids
If you CBA to keep up now that you have kids
I CBA to care what you think
Smile

But Johnson is still a TWAT of the first order

Stripyhoglets · 08/01/2021 21:24

For supporting brexit. He knows it a shit idea for the country but supported it anyway to get where he is now as PM.
Fucking things up for opportunity. I have a lot more respect for the politicians wh0 always wanted to leave.

Because he is the leader of a political party almost no one on mumsnet voted for. And because generally people on the left side of the political spectrum absolutely despise anyone not on the left and feel morally superior to them thereby feel free to let lose with their hatred. And because they are projecting how they would feel if their husband left for a 30 something. Oh and because he's posh and that's the prejudice that is socially acceptable for many.

I don't feel anything for him, like you OP. He was a pretty useless London mayor but red Ken was far worse and Khan is shaping up to be super shit too. Covid is a nasty virus and people are stupid. Blaming him for a virus demonstrates that spectacularly well.

Is he racist? No evidence of that - his comments about extreme Muslim dressing doesnt indicate racism. I'm very uncomfortable with the Niqab because it's misogynist and belongs in the dark ages. Criticising something that is all about the oppression of women doesn't make anyone racist.

But people like hysteria.

Myshinynewname2021 · 08/01/2021 21:33

Oh and Jeremy Corbyn was pro brexit. He had to stop talking about it but he was very keen. But no one here minds that because he's Jeremy corbyn

TheBuffster · 08/01/2021 21:35

You can be uncomfortable with the hijab without calling women post boxes though.

If it sounds like a racist and looks like a racist...

Have you voted since you turned 18?

If not, you have no right to complain about how bad our politicians are?

If you voted Tory / Brexit, own it you won it

If you voted Corbyn, time to grow up now

The UK needs PR
end of

TwilightToStarlight · 08/01/2021 21:36

Couldn't give a shit about his personal life. I could live with some of his off colour remarks and general ineptitude if it wasn't for the fact he is leading the country. I hate the system that put him there more than I hate him personally. Like much of the current government, if his mummy and daddy hadn't bought him a first class education, he may have ended up middle management somewhere, doing little harm, probably a bit of a smarmy office pest. As it is, he is in charge. Fucking terrifying.

Laureline · 08/01/2021 21:38

Because he’s a twerp.

thecatfromjapan · 08/01/2021 21:41

The siphoning of money to cronies is not a glitch in his governance, it was part of the 'project'. Cummings talked and wrote at length that getting us out of the EU would allow U.K. governments to over-ride checks and balances of tendering state projects to public tender.

And lo - test and trace, PPE became huge troughs for friends and funders of Johnson and his circle.

An undermining not only of finances but also the standards of public life at the best of times - but now? in the middle of a pandemic?: a shameful, agonising tragedy.

And he grabbed power by attaching himself to Brexit, to the extent that he kicked out the competent, rational members of his Party, then stuffing his Cabinet with people so incompetent they were no threat or crazy ideologues. Again, bad at the best of times. But now - it's one of the reasons we are actually caught in an actual national tragedy.

A terrible person. A disaster. A tragedy.

HannibalHayes · 08/01/2021 21:44

Boris Johnson: “The best way to honour Jo Cox’s memory is to get Brexit done”.

For this alone he should be hung, drawn, and quartered.

Evil scum.

Myshinynewname2021 · 08/01/2021 21:46

He wasn't talking about the hijab. He was talking about the niqab. I'm assuming you know the difference?
