I actually thought this was parody. But this guy actually wrote this shit. On New Year's Eve. I wonder whether it was after a discussion with Boris?

Mr Baines has since apologised and stood down as chairman of the Clwyd South Conservative Association. He wrote: ‘A&Es in Germany aren’t full of fat mums in pot noodle-stained leggings/ pjs taking their kids for a day out at A&E to harvest Facebook likes because their darling little snot-covered Asbo fell over. Happy New Year.’

I somehow get the feeling that he's a Mumsnetter? Hmm

@Hatstrategicallydipped mine wash themselves but I keep on spilling pot noodles all over them. It's a problem.

MessAllOver · 05/01/2021 20:22

@Covine. Actually, they like to make "sandwiches" (jaffa cake - chicken piece - jaffa cake), which I think shows a certain sophistication for that age.

Lweji · 05/01/2021 20:27

Mine chews his clothes and, even when he washes, his hair looks like it only barely touched the shampoo.
Might as well start buying pot noodles and send him to A&E. These days it would require a plane trip to be able to get an ASBO, though. Grin So, maybe best when the pandemic is over.

MimiDaisy11 · 05/01/2021 20:27

I don't get the idea that people go to A&E or the doctor's for fun. If you don't need to be seen you're going to give up waiting. Sure you might get people that are over-reacting but they're usually genuinely worried.

Hatstrategicallydipped · 05/01/2021 20:28

I cook noodles from scratch from a packet. Sometimes it gets on my keyboard but my dog loves to lick it all up and clean it for me.
Can't wait - literally counting down the days to my next trip to A&E! I think I'll bring a bottle of whisky for the road you know? Slam my head off a wall so that I can have some blood - don't want to be left there ignored for 10 hours ya'know?

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 05/01/2021 20:30

I changed my pj top earlier because I dropped noodles down it (super not pot if that's relevant). I didn't realise that the correct response to aforementioned spillage was to push one of the DC down the stairs and go to A&E.

Gobbeldegook · 05/01/2021 20:33

I actually found this hilarious 😂

Sorry

I'll see myself out

Its FB "OMG hun, whats happened" that they are looking for.

So your sisters next door neignhours cousins dogs uncle is at A&E. You turn up to be "supportive", check in at A&E and then wait for the FB likes and "OMG" to pour in. You dont answer any of these, revelling in the fact that sooooo many people care about you that they sit up half the night messaging you.

I have extended family members who do this, and as I said earlier, DD has said that this is a real issue for the A&E where she works.

HTH1 · 05/01/2021 20:34
@Covine. Thanks for the tip. I might take some Krispy Kremes as well though... I always think you need at least two courses for a decent lunch out Wink.

The toddler prefers KFC and a tub of jaffa cakes for pud, washed down with a can of Fanta, so we'll pick that up on the way.
You shouldn’t give a toddler Fanta, it will just make them wired.

I normally just bring a thermos of warm vodka to my daily A&E trips as it gives the pot noodles a nice flavour and it keeps my 8 toddlers calm while they wait to be seen. Yes, there’s more chance of spillage over my leggings but little Dwayne and Asbetta quench their thirst that way so drink less of the hand sanitiser and alcohol rub.

TeddysTigerEyes · 05/01/2021 20:37

@Hatstrategicallydipped

I have never in all my years (many) heard of a family planning a trip to A&E as opposed to perhaps a trip to the beach or to the zoo or something. The suggestion seems to be that British people actually enjoy a trip to A&E? Furthermore the suggestion is that such people (let's assume they exist) are overweight, are rearing delinquent children, exist on pot noodles, have poor hygiene and feed their children shite.
We used to take our lad to pets warehouse as the poor mans zoo. Seriously shame on him. I love a pot noodle.
Positivevibesonlyplease · 05/01/2021 20:38

Wow! He must’ve been drunk or high, surely?

ASatisfyingThump · 05/01/2021 20:38

Sort of off topic, but the Tesco's own noodles still have all the salt (don't think they have the e numbers though). The chicken ones are very heavy on the coriander though.

Positivevibesonlyplease · 05/01/2021 20:40

@XelaM

I love this thread Grin
Me too!
Positivevibesonlyplease · 05/01/2021 20:41

First time I’ve laughed all day! Grin

BeyondThunderdome · 05/01/2021 20:42

Has he seen the price of pot noodles nowadays?! Shock

Boxerdogmum · 05/01/2021 20:44

I read the article it didn't say fuck your future asbos yes it was a shitty article but it looks like some punch drunk wannabe junior journalist is posting on mumsnets to gather material. If only my job was so easy. Preying on fears and predujices.

Grin Has to be the best response so far. I wonder whether whiskey is as effective as vodka? Gin? I've some pink gin. Not sure whether the strawberry flavour would go well with the chicken? Mine are fussy eaters you see.

N Wales tories really are something else. There was the female one from Wrexham who worried about all the refugees coming over on boats to invade.

Then there's Rob Roberts. They really are a special bunch.

AldiAisleofCrap · 05/01/2021 20:46

The people horrified clearly haven’t spent much time in A and E. I agree with him.

MessAllOver · 05/01/2021 20:48

@HTH1. Thanks for the tip...I do let little ASBO have a sip of my bacardi for a treat now and again at home (normally they have strongbow in their bottle), but hadn't thought about bringing liquor to A&E. Somehow I'd thought it would be frowned upon... thanks for setting me straight on that!

I am guilty of paraphrasing. He never said 'fuck your little asbos'.

May have been what he implied......... But I linked to the direct quote.

And no, I'm not a journalist. Journalists haven't picked up on this story. So I did.

He must be on glue! Just read this article to DH and come on to search for a thread, you didn't disappoint.
It's our local A&E, I've been once with DD and did indeed see a family outing!
I actually had my pj bottoms on as it was early hours but they're more like lounge wear so I think (hope) I got away with it Blush

FiveFootTwoEyesOfBlue · 05/01/2021 20:56

I'm disappointed; I read the thread title and thought it was going to be written by a A&E professional who's got to the end of their tether and is saying what they really think but are never allowed to say out loud.

I was in A&E last month, a drunk guy was waiting behind us in the door area where you had to wait before you were allowed in, effing and blinding and refusing to wear a mask.

BeastOfBODMAS · 05/01/2021 20:57

You can buy MSG to add back in to your noodles
