I think FRER pregnancy tests are crap

farandfew · 03/01/2021 16:02

Loo brushes are fine
You don't need to clean every day
Watching a movie won't damage your toddler
Not replying to a message right away doesn't make you a bad friend

Chillypenguin · 03/01/2021 16:05

Grey interiors can look nice.

Large weddings can be nice and in general I like weddings. Cash as a gift is my preferred option.

A new car is also nice and I love not having to worry about it passing an MOT.

All inclusive holidays are relaxing and you’d have to pay me to go camping.

I had a great time in Dubai and would go again.

FlyPiggy · 03/01/2021 16:06

The environment shouldn't be a deciding factor when contemplating whether or not to have a child/more children.

wherewildthingsare · 03/01/2021 16:08

I don't care for breast feeding. I can live with peoples opinion of my comment.

Bakedbeanhead · 03/01/2021 16:08

I like Thornton’s chocolates and would be pleased to receive them as a present!

wherewildthingsare · 03/01/2021 16:09

I don't believe having more than one child has a bad impact on environmental issues.

It's OK to earn less than 50k a year.

Most men probably aren’t very bothered about having kids. They would probably prefer their wives to work.

Shouting transwomen are men over and over is transphobic and the women’s rights board on here is crap because of the amount of faux wide eyed ‘where are the transphobic posts, OP? I’d be happy to help you report them’. No you wouldn’t - they’re everywhere.

On the whole, vegetarianism is much better for everyone than eating meat (I honestly don’t understand why mumsnet is so anti-vegetarian tbh).

Being at stay at home mum is a perfectly valid choice, but it is in no way shape or form as difficult as parenting while working an actual job.

Level75 · 03/01/2021 16:15

The existence of trans women is not a threat to women's rights.

It's not actually a big deal at all.

TheIceTree · 03/01/2021 16:16

I don't generally like ensuite bathrooms (in private homes)

Also YES to people asking for cash as a wedding gift. Mumsnet is unbelievably weird about gifts in general and the amount of ungrateful threads about unwanted gifts are horrible ungracious or if they’re secret Santa gifts completely laughable. They’re also followed by a statement about how they spend hours hand picking a perfect gift for the recipient. Give over you clowns. Either give cash or do away with gift giving entirely unless with someone who knows you super well.

And on that note:

Most handmade gifts are crap.

CounsellorTroi · 03/01/2021 16:17

I agree, there is a bit of a "reds under the bed" mentality about transpeople.

Being busy isnt a virtue

wherewildthingsare · 03/01/2021 16:21

All these lockdowns, shutting schools etc are not going to make the virus go away.

Icenii · 03/01/2021 16:22

Fleeces and hiking clothes are really sexy.

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad · 03/01/2021 16:25

Its okay to open your front door when someone knocks on it.

Having half a glass of wine with dinner doesn't make you an alcoholic who should be in rehab.

Its ok to leave a 16 year old home alone.

Notimeforaname · 03/01/2021 16:25

I think its cruel to put your child(ren) into creche /wrap around care from morning til 6/7pm at night. I feel horrible for the children and makes me so sad. Especially in winter as they leave the house when it's dark n get home when it's dark. Enough time to be fed, washed and put to bed. I worked with children like this for quite a while and made me sad to know they saw me twice as much as their parents. If not more.

DisappearingGirl · 03/01/2021 16:25

Haha, me too! I love Dairy Milk too!

wherewildthingsare · 03/01/2021 16:25

Buck's Fizz is shite. As is pimms. Common, tacky and disgusting.

Wedding DJs/ music is laughable

ilikebooksandplants · 03/01/2021 16:27

No one who went to your £20 wedding in your scabby local thinks it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. They all prefer the hugely unnecessarily extravagant ones.

(I think big weddings are a waste of money by the way, and it’s imminently more sensible to have a cheapo one BUT come on people, the OTT ones are more fun, even if just to gawk at).

SchrodingersImmigrant · 03/01/2021 16:27

Thank you cards are waste of time. Jsut say it and if someone doesn't accept "Thanks for the present" as a thanks, they are not worth to bother with

DisappearingGirl · 03/01/2021 16:28

I am fine with being invited to just the evening do for a wedding and enjoy going along for a drink and a dance.

Also, I love being able to click a button and give a cash/voucher wedding gift rather than having to choose a present.
