Bloody joggers

Credenhill22 · 02/01/2021 21:02

I've had enough of them.
Today I was going to pick my daughter up and these idiots are all over the road.
The sun was very low today and it was very hard too see the road.
I swear I nearly knocked 2 idiots down who were running on the road.
I get people need to get out and keep fit but keep to the bloody pavements and if the pavement is too icy then bloody stay at home and stop putting road users at risk.
I mean can you imagine the hassle a driver would be put through if we ran over one of these selfish idiots...either stay on the pavements or stay indoors..

100% agree!!

Maybe they were trying to avoid other people on the pavement? I walk in the road sometimes for this reason (I always look out for traffic though).

GoldenLabbie · 02/01/2021 21:11

Yeah, maybe they should just stay at home and get fat OP? Is that what you’d prefer? If you couldn’t see the road properly then maybe invest in some decent sunglasses in future, as driving when you can properly is fucking dangerous.

Kassalah · 02/01/2021 21:12

I thought this thread was going to be about blood-stained jogging bottoms 😄

Annoying, but you shouldn't drive if you can't see where you're going - you could have crashed into a parked car for example.

lioncitygirl · 02/01/2021 21:13

Jesus. 🤦🏻‍♀️

That doesn't even make sense. Put your wine glass down.

I understand that joggers are now preferring to jog on roads because the ups and downs of a pavement annoys them.
I've nearly hit a dear friend who was out jogging and ran across a junction as I was turning into it.. she laughed when I told her! 🙄

BIWI · 02/01/2021 21:16

I'd be more worried about you, as a driver, who can't see things in front of them on the road. You're the dangerous one.

FitterHappierMoreProductive · 02/01/2021 21:17

If you can’t see the road when you’re driving, you shouldn’t be driving. You were the risk, not them.

Oh do behave! Low sun in winter can be bloody treacherous to drive in, wether you've got sunglasses on or not. Stupid comment. Do you drive?

Credenhill22 · 02/01/2021 21:19

The sun was so bloody low today...Honestly was anyone out driving today and struggled with the very low sun glare?

yes, this!!!

why were you even out....non essential journey probably

megletthesecond · 02/01/2021 21:19

I hate joggers on the road. Stupid way to keep fit, dodging a tonne of speeding metal.
(Walker who runs on the path and park, where there are no cars basically).

BogRollBOGOF · 02/01/2021 21:19

The selfish bastards should stick to the gyms and treadmills... oh wait...

Or maybe they should stay on the pavements and slip and go to A&E or have to put up with scandalised complaints about them BREATHING and PANTING and CREEPING up on unsuspecting pedestrians.

Or they could sit on their sofas, get fat and have DVTs then end up in hospital...

Or you know, mind their own business and go for a run.

Drivers are responsible for being aware of their surroundings. It might be a "jogger", a cyclist, a horse, or a child/ animal dashing out.

It is prudent to wear bright, hi-viz colours/ reflectives in winter light though to give everyone their best chance.

I always have sunglasses to hand when I'm driving, even in winter, because it hardly takes any light to make me squint.

People, including joggers, not paying attention to other path/road users are a massive pain in the arse though.

ArcheryAnnie · 02/01/2021 21:21

You were the risk, not them. Stay home if you can't see the road.

GinAndTonicOnIt · 02/01/2021 21:22

OP I wish I had your problems Hmm

Buy some sunglasses.

You sound jealous, are we not very fit?

Yes this. If you hit them you'd be in serious trouble.
islockdownoveryet · 02/01/2021 21:22

As a jogger myself I only go on the road when I have to ie crossing.
So yanbu if they are jogging on the road as it's not safe .

Plonque · 02/01/2021 21:23

Oh for fucks sake, I despair 🤦🏽‍♀️

Are the "why were you even out?" And "you're the problem" people central Londoners or non drivers per chance?
You know not everyone has a shop on their road or within walking distance.

Credenhill22 · 02/01/2021 21:24

Are the roads for traffic or joggers?

Sorry, but joggers shouldn't be on roads. Particularly narrow roads where they affect the flow of traffic.
I'm now going to put my helmet on as joggers on here will no doubt tell me that I shouldn't be driving.
