I feel January the 1st is when Christmas ends for and when I take my decorations down.

Same here. Tomorrow the dec's are down

ssd · 31/12/2020 17:35

It used to be around when schools went back, now I'd say next week sometime

Groovinpeanut · 31/12/2020 17:36

I'm the same January 1st. I take all of the decorations down in the evening. It's then all ready to clean and get everything sorted ready for back to work.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 31/12/2020 17:36

6th January

Royalbloo · 31/12/2020 17:37

Day after Boxing Day - there's nothing to do so might as well get the cleaning done!

Frozenintime · 31/12/2020 17:37

27 December

Tellmelies65 · 31/12/2020 17:37

Yes when my children were young the decorations were up until the day they went back to school.

I stopped feeling Christmassy about two days ago and took my tree down today. Normally I’d do it tomorrow or on 2nd.

EllenRipley · 31/12/2020 17:38

Me too. I love Christmas and the lead up to it (though obvs not so much this year). I'm not a grinchy grouch but omg, I love putting it all away on Jan 1st. Enough already.

Chanteuse · 31/12/2020 17:38

My decorations have come down today and I’ve started the clean up/getting rid of the clutter before back to work Monday

TheGirlWhoLived · 31/12/2020 17:38

We have the Christmas decs all down before midnight on 1st jan - usually do a deep clean too but I’m 8 months pregnant so the Christmas decs were enough this year! Will clean tomorrow (but no washing, because my Nan said Grin)

Bikingbear · 31/12/2020 17:39

Around the New Year time, when the focus turns to the bells, but decorations will stay up another week.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 31/12/2020 17:40

I finish my christmas candle by ney, but decs stay until 6th. Tbh I am just tempted to change the fluffy green garlands from baubles and bows into dry flowers and keep them😂 They make everything cosy

triceratops12 · 31/12/2020 17:40

Boxing Day, tree goes down and toys go away

speakout · 31/12/2020 17:41

27th Dec.

AnaisNun · 31/12/2020 17:41

Day after the Epiphany or the first weekend day after if it’s midweek

sammylady37 · 31/12/2020 17:41

When I go back to work, which usually is the 27th

Movinghouseatlast · 31/12/2020 17:41

6th January and it upsets me every year!

lughnasadh · 31/12/2020 17:41

6th January.

Tier10 · 31/12/2020 17:42

I watched a couple of programmes about Christmas during WW2 and how it used to be a much shorter celebration, just Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Nodancingshoes · 31/12/2020 17:42

@TheGirlWhoLived
My nan told me not to do washing on New Years Day too! Smile

santasmincepie · 31/12/2020 17:45

Usually everything comes down 1st Jan, but this year I'm going to visit my DM on 2nd Jan after isolating over Christmas (we're in a support bubble before anyone leaps on me), so I'll leave them up until after "Christmas 2"

ShowOfHands · 31/12/2020 17:47

January 1st and it makes me feel very sad.

doctorhamster · 31/12/2020 17:48

I'd say 1st Jan is the last day of Christmas for me. Tree will come down on 3rd because we're back to work on 4th. I'm feeling quite melancholy today because it's my absolute favourite time of year and I don't want it to end.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 31/12/2020 17:48

After boxIng day. Decorations are already down as don’t enjoy them up in January as it’s twelve months away from Christ then.
