I feel January the 1st is when Christmas ends for and when I take my decorations down.

OP posts:
Roselilly36 · 31/12/2020 17:50

1st Jan here too

romany4 · 31/12/2020 17:54

6th January.
I love Christmas and like to leave my decorations up till the very last minute.
I hate them coming down.
Christmas is my favourite thing

starrynight19 · 31/12/2020 17:55

We tend to have one last nice family dinner on New Year’s Day and then everything down on the 2nd.

dementedma · 31/12/2020 17:56

This is the first year I havent wanted to take them down. They add some comfort and sparkle

NovemberR · 31/12/2020 17:56

Twelfth Night. 6 Jan.

(Although occasionally bits of ceiling decoration lurk longer than than if I don't bother get them down...)

This year has been so miserable I might keep it going for as long as the gin and the chocolates last...

KipperTheFrog · 31/12/2020 17:56

Our decorations come down the weekend after new year, so that’ll be the 2nd. If new year is Sunday/Monday they stay up till the following weekend.

FangsForTheMemory · 31/12/2020 17:56

Boxing day. Not really a Christmas person.

Notonthestairs · 31/12/2020 17:57

6th Jan. But am keeping the fairy lights up until the batteries run out!

Coffeeislife04 · 31/12/2020 17:57

Tomorrow new year fresh start decs down massive clean☺

Pollypudding · 31/12/2020 17:59

Twelfth Night for me too Wine

TrickorTreacle · 31/12/2020 18:00

Another one voting for 6th Jan (not religious).

81Byerley · 31/12/2020 18:00

6th January

smalalalalalala · 31/12/2020 18:03

Usually when I go back to work, so Monday after the 1st, but by the look of things, this year it could be April !

However I stopped feeling Christmassy this year by the 26th, probably because it was crap, I wasn't with my family.

Snugglepumpkin · 31/12/2020 18:06

6th January

HelplessProcrastinator · 31/12/2020 18:08

1st of January for us. Decs down tomorrow. No more eating crap. Sad times.

Camomila · 31/12/2020 18:08

6th Jan is when we do the DCs stockings from the befana.

I'm taking the decorations down on Sunday 3rd though as I'm back at work on the 4th.

FiveToFour · 31/12/2020 18:08

Twelfth Night,Jan 6th."Christmas" Christmas has finished sometime in the week after Christmas Day,but the season finishes on Twelfth Night for us and our decorations and tree stay up til then.

Thehop · 31/12/2020 18:09

Everything down and clean today, here, feels bloody brilliant

TheRealHousewife · 31/12/2020 18:09

I used to be a traditionalist and took decorations down on the 6th. This year I’ve started today with the cards and peripheral decs and tomorrow the trees are coming down. I’m ready to do a deep feckle :)

user1494055864 · 31/12/2020 18:09

Usually Jan 1st for me, but I have an assignment to finish tomorrow, so tree will have to wait until the weekend.

oakleaffy · 31/12/2020 18:10

6 th Jan, but will probably take tree down and re acclimatise it to the frost before then.

But the window lights and garden lights that everyone has are so gorgeous..
It will be shame to see those go. On a night walk the lights and trees in windows make it so much prettier.

edwinbear · 31/12/2020 18:10

2nd Jan - we like to celebrate New Year's Day with a nice meal and the lights still up. I like to milk Christmas for as long as possible tbh Grin

Nicolastuffedone · 31/12/2020 18:10

1st January, but I have very little in the way of the decorations up.

Norwayreally · 31/12/2020 18:12

It’s over now. We’ve taken the decorations down and tidied the living room so it’s all over for us. Onto a new year, hopefully a better year than this one...

Itstheprinciple · 31/12/2020 18:13

As close to the 6th as we can get, but depends on when schools go back for when I'll have time to take the decorations down. This year it will probably be on Sunday.
