Childless Aunty

I'm a childless Aunty not by choice. Just never happened for me. After shelling out on gifts for nieces and nephews am gutted to not have a single present from my siblings. Even my Grandparents only now buy for the Great Grandchildren. AIBU to expect even a small gift or card?

This thread has made me feel lucky that my only immediate family is my childless sister - we bought each other wonderful gifts this year.

I don’t have friends with kids either. I dropped off a lot of people’s radars and soon noticed who only got in touch when their child’s birthday rolled around. My childless friendship group all sent each other thoughtful tokens this year.

I guess the secret is to surround oneself with fellow non-parents and let the parents all supply each other’s kids.
