so...
I had received a text from my Doctors on Friday which I missed.
I'd spend the weekend thinking that either I was going to have to self-isolate or that my biopsy results were not clear after all...

Turns out they want me to pop in for my HRT review and a blood pressure check. The HRT is fabulous. The blood pressure is normal.

The only problem is that the receptionist and I didn't really want to get off the phone as we were enjoying our lovely normal chat. I told her to keep fighting the good fight.

Dropped presents off to my friend and her family and had a lovely catch up in the front garden.
My DDs have not bickered all day (this in itself is a Christmas miracle!).
We went for a drive down a local street that has put up hundreds of Christmas lights, it looks so festive and lovey!

FoxInABox · 21/12/2020 22:23

*lovely

I’m back at work after quite a while out of employment... I was really unsure but it’s going really well and today I started to believe it’s the right path for me. I’ve identified an area I can add a lot of value to - I’m excited to start working on it

A FaceTime call with my best friend turned into a three-hour epic, mostly between DD1 and BF. They Pottered and baked as they chatted and while I wasn't deliberately listening in, it warmed my heart to hear DD tell BF all about her life and the good things in it - things she wouldn't think to tell me about

My car passed its MOT today. Not even any advisories.

GriseldaChop · 21/12/2020 23:01

The local councillor arranged for Santa to make visits around the town tonight, he was in a lit up vehicle that played lovely festive music and Santa came and talked to all the children. It was nice to get wrapped and have a little late night walk to see him. Xmas Smile

What a lovely thread! I have Covid BUT I’m not too ill and a friend dropped in a survival pack for the whole family with chocolate, alcohol, paracetamol, a candle and crafts for the kids. I cried. We’ve been inundated with offers of help from friends.

Mumisnotmyonlyname · 21/12/2020 23:06

I managed to find red berried holly today in a town with no holly anywhere on Saturday.

Mumisnotmyonlyname · 21/12/2020 23:07

Another one-an old friend sent me a Christmas bouquet.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 21/12/2020 23:15

My kids were both just really cuddly with me today.

This thread is my happy thing. Thanks OP, and all PP.

TaraR2020 · 22/12/2020 00:22

I had a last minute dash to send parcels at the PO and miraculously there was no queue!

When filling up with petrol, I got money off because they'd forgotten to update the advertised price

I've had lovely text from my sister with whom I have a fraught relationship

After 2 years of terrible health a friend told me I was looking really well

And this thread. This lovely, moving, sweet thread Smile

Thank you Op and congratulations to Lloyd of you who've had the rest results you've wished for. And also to @PurplePansy05 - my fingers and toes are very much crossed for you Smile

TaraR2020 · 22/12/2020 00:23

*all not Lloyd (?!)

TaraR2020 · 22/12/2020 00:25

** test results!

baubled · 22/12/2020 00:42

It's my DS birthday on Wednesday and normally I'm wrapping like a mad woman the night before and then again Christmas Eve but I've just got both finished 😊 I can dedicate all my time to decorating for him and then relaxing Christmas Eve with a take away 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Igneococcus · 22/12/2020 07:19

It's my son's birthday tomorrow too baubled He'll be 13, I'll be baking a massive red velvet cake for him in the afternoon.

baubled · 22/12/2020 07:33

@Igneococcus that sounds delicious! Do they mind their birthday bring so close to Christmas?

Doidontimmm · 22/12/2020 07:36

The results I was waiting on came back clear, not cancer 😀

LemonDrizzles · 22/12/2020 07:38

My soon to be 1 year old took her first steps. Three of them. Great to watch

Igneococcus · 22/12/2020 07:39

Yes, a bit, it's a long wait with no celebration throughout the year and then two big events are coming around at the same time. Only the second time in nine years of school that his birthday is on a school day, we are in Scotland and tomorrow is the last school day before Christmas in our county.

inquietant · 22/12/2020 07:39

I've just made a tasteless Grin Christmas table runner this morning and have a new Christmas jigsaw for the kids to do later. That's a decent enough day for me in current times!

MistleTOEboughski · 22/12/2020 07:40

It's my birthday today and I am going to eat loads of Christmas snack food, birthday cake and have a Chinese takeaway.

TitanicWasAGreatMovie · 22/12/2020 07:46

This what I am doing right now. I am the only one up, I am off work, sitting reading this lovely thread with a quiet cuppa before I get going on ‘the list’ Smile.

I'm a nurse. Yesterday I did a wee, easy 5 minute job for a patient. For some reason it really touched her, she was so happy and so lovely to me for my few minutes of extra time. I've had a really hard time with abusive patients during covid and she made me remember why I do this job and why I love it.
