so...
I had received a text from my Doctors on Friday which I missed.
I'd spend the weekend thinking that either I was going to have to self-isolate or that my biopsy results were not clear after all...

Turns out they want me to pop in for my HRT review and a blood pressure check. The HRT is fabulous. The blood pressure is normal.

The only problem is that the receptionist and I didn't really want to get off the phone as we were enjoying our lovely normal chat. I told her to keep fighting the good fight.

Such a lovely thread!

I dreamt that I was moving back to my old parisian extra-small and dark rental flat.
The kitchen was absolutely tiny, and I was in tears just thinking how I was missing London and my rather big kitchen.

Then I woke up in my lovely London flat, literally kissed my kitchen worktop good morning and just felt GLORIOUS.

I'm "stuck" in the UK since several EU countries have banned all travellers to enter the country, but I don't mind at all, I hadn't planned to go back to Paris for the holidays, and I just feel good and safe here.
It's home.

Today's the first day I've got back into my pre pregnancy jeans. DD's well over a year old now - thought it was never going to happen. Really happy.

ButtWormHole · 21/12/2020 13:17

We have a full fridge.

There was a time we were relying on food banks for Christmas. Life is better

I had a meeting for work and one of the people at the meeting I went to university with, had a nice talk after. Nice surprise.

After months of applying for jobs after being furloughed and then made redundant I have 2 interviews including one this afternoon. Even though I may not get it just getting the interview has made me really happy!

TwoZeroTwoZero · 21/12/2020 13:23

I've just had a lovely shower with one of the Treacle Moon shower gels that were delivered earlier on. I used the mint tingle one and it smelled like choc & mint ice-cream!

I had a fake bacon butty afterwards, with loads of brown sauce, and it was delicious.

Sitting here with a hot cup of tea in front of the window watching the rain. I feel safe and warm.

SquirrelFan · 21/12/2020 13:24

@RuggerHug exactly the same here!! So excited and planning what to wash first,

LadyJaye · 21/12/2020 13:26

Our cat woke me up at the very civilised hour of 8am this morning by purring in my face and giving me gentle 'head boinks', then came to join me in the living room as I had a coffee in the glow of the Christmas tree lights.

It was lovely.

My 8 year old son (who is ASD) vacuumed the entire lower floor and stairs and cleaned the bathroom (under my supervision). We then invented a new board game 🙂

I received matching knitted hats for me and my new baby from the mum of a good friend of mine. I’ve only met her mum once, at my friend’s wedding; she’s just a lovely, thoughtful lady.

nosswith · 21/12/2020 13:28

OP, nice to know of a GP receptionist who is not the usual person who everyone hates!

roarfeckingroarr · 21/12/2020 13:33

My mind week old baby has spent the morning absolutely beaming at me and he's just dropping off into a contented snooze in my arms. He makes me forget all the Covid nonsense.

Mominatrix · 21/12/2020 13:34

Underfloor heating repair man came and the ground floor is toasty warm.

HyacynthBucket · 21/12/2020 13:35

Lovely green fields at the back of the house, one with two adorable shetlands. Buds on the lilac tree. Knowing that from tomorrow the days start drawong out longer for summer.

thatone · 21/12/2020 13:37

When I was queuing outside Waitrose in the rain this morning some staff came out to give everyone umbrellas.

HyacynthBucket · 21/12/2020 13:38

petitdonkey · 21/12/2020 13:39

@ButtWormHole - your post has now become my ‘lovely thing’ today. I’m so glad for you x

Babymamma192 · 21/12/2020 13:39

pinkgin85 · 21/12/2020 13:39

kittensarecute · 21/12/2020 13:40

My best friend in the world just popped round to deliver a card and present. I've also had a very enjoyable morning with my favourite dog 🐕

lcdododo · 21/12/2020 13:41

Crying happy tears at this thread!

TerrifiedandWorried · 21/12/2020 13:41

I just did my Christmas shop in Aldi. DD came and helped. It was quiet, I forgot the list but still remembered everything I needed and we actually enjoyed ourselves.

ellerman · 21/12/2020 13:41

It's not raining in my part of Scotland today.

itsgettingweird · 21/12/2020 13:42

The supermarket wasn't busy Grin

I always do shop on Monday when ds swim trains - usually evening. Today he had a longer am session as holidays and I went then instead. Had prepared myself for queuing for an hour in rain (got there at opening) and mass exodus of items on the shelf around me.

Neither were true. Now home and had a lovely lunch. Chilling this afternoon ready for all the early morning starts we have this week - Christmas Eve included!

JovialNickname · 21/12/2020 13:42

I have a fridge full of lovely, nourishing food. I have a roof over my head. I am sad but will try to help other people in small ways and talk to my neighbours.
