so...
I had received a text from my Doctors on Friday which I missed.
I'd spend the weekend thinking that either I was going to have to self-isolate or that my biopsy results were not clear after all...

Turns out they want me to pop in for my HRT review and a blood pressure check. The HRT is fabulous. The blood pressure is normal.

The only problem is that the receptionist and I didn't really want to get off the phone as we were enjoying our lovely normal chat. I told her to keep fighting the good fight.

I had to go into the office today, and the sainsburys next door had Christmas crackers (the one thing from my delivery on Monday that hadn't come and I hadn't been able to substitute) that made me happy 🙂

Had to queue in the driving rain to get in Marks & Spencer Foodhall this afternoon. But my fridge is now full of delicious easy to cook food, and loads of yummy nibbles and cheeses.

I got home to find my beautiful black & gold brocade ankle boots from Faith had been delivered! I absolutely love them. I'm going to wear them tomorrow with black jeans and a black cashmere sweater.

I met two friends today. We were all wrapped up in coats, hats, walking boots and umbrellas and went for a lovely walk and natter. I can home wet and cold but revived.

My cousin dropped off homemade mince pies, brandy butter, marmelade and brown bread. She is a fabulous baker and the brown bread is just lovely. Had a nice chat with her too from the porch to end of path.

My husband has woken me with a bacon sandwich in bed FIVE days in a row now.

We have a new baby rabbit in the house who is just adorable.

The new neighbours dropped off Christmas cookies.

I just bought myself a litre of gin.

A beautiful bouquet of flowers arrived today. They were from my parents and completely unexpected. We were due to spend Christmas with them but lovely to get a surprise Xmas Smile

LauraAshleySofa · 23/12/2020 19:45

We had a Carol singer at the door, dds school friend, standing a meter away from the doorstep singing 'we wish you a merry Christmas'

For a second it felt like real Christmas

Yesterday my Matron came to find me and gave me a beautiful gift as a thank you for moving from my safe job to work in itu over the past few months (on and off).
I was really touched and will always treasure it, every time I look at it. And it is something that I have always wanted ☺️

I had a hospital appointment today. The car park attendant saw my distress as I was faffing trying to find money and said “don’t worry love. Have this one for free”

Then I was in and out of hospital in nine minutes.

I blooming love the NHS.

carcarbinks · 24/12/2020 00:13

My shopping delivery driver said they can sometimes make gifts to the customers. He asked if it would be alright if he took the price of my bottle of wine off my order. So lovely!

PerkingFaintly · 24/12/2020 00:22

Two friends have been in touch today. One with good news about work, one with beautiful photos from a day out.

One of the photos is exactly what I wanted for a space on my wall.

Justiceisblind · 24/12/2020 11:54

I had a stuffed up nose which stops me sleeping and I couldn't find the otrivine.
My husband went to Tescos at half past midnight and bought me some.

Blackbirds raised 2 broods of young in a bush in the garden this year.
Mr& Mrs Blackbird has stuck around because we have kept feeding them.
A few weeks ago we had the idea of putting some food on the kitchen windowsill to see if they will feed close up . Today they saw we were in the kitchen and bashed the glass with ( his ) beak to tell us they were hungry.
