so...
I had received a text from my Doctors on Friday which I missed.
I'd spend the weekend thinking that either I was going to have to self-isolate or that my biopsy results were not clear after all...

Turns out they want me to pop in for my HRT review and a blood pressure check. The HRT is fabulous. The blood pressure is normal.

The only problem is that the receptionist and I didn't really want to get off the phone as we were enjoying our lovely normal chat. I told her to keep fighting the good fight.

There's a moment in this which is priceless. You'll know it when you see it.

I'm feeling utterly blah! I had a little cry in the car before
But my sourdough pizza is on its way and will be withe in 15 min! I also bought some hotel chocolate slabs just for me!

bobblesandbows · 21/12/2020 19:26

I work PT in 2 schools and I just finished all my planning for next term in one marathon session!!! (Hoping they'll be back in or it will all be wasted as I'll have to do it again for teaching on zoom, but still!)

Madbengalmum · 21/12/2020 19:44

Fridge is full, no dramas at M&S this morning.
I have now finished work for two weeks.
Had my hair cut today and having nails and cleaning done tomorrow.

Pukkapiesrule · 21/12/2020 19:45

We had a magpie with a damaged wing all over summer & autumn. My hubby devoted hours to trying to gain his trust & help him survive. It was the highlight of my day watching him come for a bath & some food when hubby & the chickens were out in the garden & he felt safe. About a month ago he disappeared, we thought he hadn't made it. Today he reappeared!! Was the most welcome sight ever & made my tear up on my work call. He's just eaten or hidden 3 fat balls. He's OK. I'm so happy 😊

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 21/12/2020 19:47

We just had the big Sainsbury’s delivery, and the fridge is bursting.

I’m teaching remotely, and feel like I am a bit shit at it. One of my students who graduated at summer popped a card through my door, with a message saying I was the best ever lecturer - it really made me cry!

Our cat was a bit off her food over the weekend, so I have her booked in at the vet for Wednesday. Today she wolfed down her breakfast, and licked her dinner plate clean. Hopefully I can cancel the appointment now.

We got video links for my dcs nativity and nursery sing along so much Christmas joy and innocence rolled into 45 mins I struggled not to cry

JaceLancs · 21/12/2020 19:54

Went for a long walk with a colleague - despite rain it felt good to be outside and talk to someone without zoom

shinynewapple2020 · 21/12/2020 19:57

Click n collect completed for Christmas food shop so we now have lots of nice treats .
DH has finished wrapping all the Christmas presents (I just need to do his).
House is decorated .
Dog has been walked and is now snoring beside me .
This happened a couple of days ago, not today, but I finally got to visit my mum in her care home after many months and she has had her first Covid vaccine .
Oh and we've had Chinese takeaway for tea Smile

SnugglySnerd · 21/12/2020 19:58

6 yo dd told me at bedtime that she loves her family and she feels like the luckiest girl in the world. I hugged her for ages after that Xmas Smile

Pinktornado · 21/12/2020 19:58

Found the last 2 packets of mince pies hidden behind some biscuits in the supermarket yesterday (not in UK) and marched out of there like I’d just won gold at the olympics Grin

Also DS 2.5 stamped his foot and folded his arms earlier and announced ‘I’m grumpy’. Wee guy is exhausted after a long term at nursery but I’m so proud he’s starting to recognise his emotions - better than some adults, including me and DH... Hmm Cuddles cheered him up.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 21/12/2020 20:04

My 8 month old boy spent 15 minutes laughing hysterically at an empty egg box. Which then made me laugh hysterically too. It was a good 15 minutes for the soul

purplecorkheart · 21/12/2020 20:07

I got a lovely Christmas card from an lady who I helped in work. I never realised until today how much the help meant to her. I cried happy tears reading it.

shinynewapple2020 · 21/12/2020 20:09

That's brilliant @Chaby
And we look forward to the new puppy pics in a few weeks @myfatiguehastiredness Smile

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 21/12/2020 20:22

What a lovely thread 🤗

Big smiles, hugs & love for all the good things!

Lots of 'finger crossing' & good vibes for those who need it!

Let's hope there are at least 3 little mners coming our way.

I dropped a card off to my Aunty today, it's the first time I've seen her since this time last year. It was so lovely to see her, but hard not to hug her.

I had my stitches out from a minor op & I don't have to take antibiotics!! YAY. BIG WIN as they always make me feel so bad & I didn't really want them over Christmas🎄

I also got a card iff one of my best friends & she had hand made a small Christmas ornament fir me & write some lovely words in my card. I'd be lost without her! We usually spend Christmas together, so I'll miss them all this year.

Lots of other good little things today!

Igneococcus · 21/12/2020 20:23

Also looking forward to going out later to see Saturn and Jupiter!

It's raining here, so I'm watching it on live stream, I had to clean the screen because I couldn't tell the moons of Jupiter from specks on the screen:

MarloweMax · 21/12/2020 20:38

Great thread!
The amazing team I manage at work sent me a bouquet of my favourite flowers and some good chocolates to thank me for all my support. It is my job to support but it was a wonderful surprise and lovely to feel so appreciated.
The dog's day care manager had put a little personalised ceramic decoration in a card with a photo of my beloved boy.
He is lying with his head on my knee currently; oblivious to the daily happiness he brings to us

Didiplanthis · 21/12/2020 20:49

I found my 9 yr old twin boys who usually fight like they breathe, curled up together on a bean bag like puppies watching TV 😊

Justiceisblind · 21/12/2020 20:51

:)
I got a nice note from someone I supervise saying he has enjoyed working with me and how much he has learned.

Someone drove passed us with a dog in the passenger seat. It's head completely out of the window with tongue lolling out. The driver must have been freezing but the dog looked really happy.

Buzztothemoon · 21/12/2020 21:13

I had to brave the supermarket today (tier 4 so now unexpectedly home for xmas.... maybe ever at this rate) & managed to drop my validated parking ticket somewhere battling out of the scrum with DD grumping all the way. Spent 10 mins dialling & redialling the help button expecting to be charged a fortune or sent on a Lord of the Rings style quest. V nice man just told me to drive to the exit, press the button there and he’s raise the barrier - no questions asked. And he did. I nearly cried.

Peccary · 21/12/2020 21:31

Our placement student (EU citizen) found out today she can't go home for Christmas as her country wants a 10 day quarantine. It warmed my heart how many of our colleagues invited her for Christmas day.

peaceanddove · 21/12/2020 21:49

I have spent a genuinely lovely day, pottering around the shops buying those last minute bits and stocking fillers. I treated myself to a very festive Costa hot chocolate as I wandered around. I then spent over an hour just browsing in Waterstones and bought some beautiful hardback books, including a gorgeously glossy coffee table book on photography which I know DD will love (she'll be doing a Fine Art & Photography degree next year).

On the way home I treated myself to a dirrrty McDonald's Wink Walked through the front door to the smell of fresh brownies as DD had been baking. Happy. Happy. Happy Smile

SignOnTheWindow · 21/12/2020 22:11

I went skinny dipping in the river for Winter Solstice! Grin

Anycrispsleft · 21/12/2020 22:13

Someone had had an accident with a bag of bird seed at the Lidl trolley park today and there were about a million sparrows cheerfully clearing it up. They were all chirping happily, sitting on the trolleys. It was lovely! I mean, it was probably a lot of sparrow poo to hose off of the trolleys, but they were gorgeous.
