so...
I had received a text from my Doctors on Friday which I missed.
I'd spend the weekend thinking that either I was going to have to self-isolate or that my biopsy results were not clear after all...

Turns out they want me to pop in for my HRT review and a blood pressure check. The HRT is fabulous. The blood pressure is normal.

The only problem is that the receptionist and I didn't really want to get off the phone as we were enjoying our lovely normal chat. I told her to keep fighting the good fight.

I took DS (3) out shopping and he was an absolute angel. He got home and said 'it's so much fun at big Tesco's!' He is easily amused bless himXmas Grin

I had a lovely long video call with a friend who’s been working abroad and I haven’t seen in 3 years.

papooshka · 21/12/2020 15:26

My cleaner came....plumber came to mend bathroom sink...my son made lunch and it was delicious...I'm about to sit down with a cuppa and read my book...my kids aren't fighting.
All good at the moment!

Found one of my EarPods in the back pocket of my running leggings and it works after it has been through the washing machine for the second time!

Small things and all that.

It's lovely reading your uplifting posts.

And my good news today is that I had a scan at the Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic and for the first time after 3 consecutive MCs, including two this year in lockdown, I saw my baby's beautiful, flickering, beating heart ❤

I had a massive scan anxiety ever since my first loss. We're at the early stages, 6+2, but the chances are higher than ever. Please everyone, keep your fingers crossed xxx

Best Christmas present ever xxx Merry Christmas, everyone ❤

ProperVexed · 21/12/2020 15:55

@PurplePansy05 My fingers are crossed for you. ! Hope your Christmas is as good as it can be and 2021 is great!

PurplePansy05 · 21/12/2020 15:57

Thank you so much, @ProperVexed, I'm literally sobbing quietly in disbelief here over my lovely cup of tea xxx

Geppili · 21/12/2020 16:07

Haven't been able to see my sister and nieces because of Covid. Recently, my niece said she wished my sister and I were lesbians together so we could all live together because she loves me so much. Her mum (my sister) said: Well, I am not sure that would work because Geppili and I are sisters, we aren't lesbians and she is married to Uncle Peter. Without pausing for breath, she piped up with:

Couldn't you just be in a threesome marriage together????pleeeaaassse!

She's utterly adorable and 11.

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 21/12/2020 16:21

Keeping everything crossed for you @PurplePansy05, that's lovely news.

We had a lovely hamper delivered today full of tasty Christmas treats, which has cheered us up as all our Christmas food is elsewhere!

Last night but still makes me smile when I think about it today. Overheard the DC discussing the birth of baby Jesus
"So how many of the people that visited the stable do you think were asked back for his first birthday party?"
"Well, I'd definitely say only one of the kings"
"Yeah you wouldn't want to risk getting any more Frankincense or Myrrh"

CuriousaboutSamphire · 21/12/2020 16:34

Not today but Friday afternoon, this morning and this evening

Boiler stopped working overnight and woke up to a freezing house on Friday morning. Facebook recommendations were all for non Gas Safe engineers - go figure! Address of the nearest in the register was 200 metres away from me! He walked down to us and had it fixed in 20 minutes. He came back and serviced it that evening and charged less than £100

This morning our shared drain burped sewage over the garden. I rang the water board and an hour later it had been jetted clear, the garden washed down and disinfected. No charge.

This evening DH is making nasi goreng from scratch - he makes the paste in bulk batches and the house smells lovely!

Christmas disasters just won't get into this house 😁

What a wonderful day of sunshine.

Keeping all my fingers crossed for you

I went to give blood today and the ambulance station is next door and I ran in to this young man doing a bit of moonlighting for NWAS before his busy period starts 😍

My covid test came back negative. I’m lying under my warm blanket right now as I finished early at work.

Autumnnightsaredrawingin · 21/12/2020 16:54

I went for a walk with one friend (tier 4 but that’s allowed) which was brilliant- we kept apart but had a really good walk and chat. Have two weeks off work after a very very busy term in school. Watching a film and kids aren’t fighting. Small wins.

DS is at his dads today, they’ve done some baking and exDP has parcelled me up some.
Small things make co-parenting easier.

AmandaHugenkiss · 21/12/2020 16:59

I got my work secret Santa present today; they got me something really thoughtful which I am delighted with and made me feel really loved 🥰

We get to drop our nephews presents off today and I can wave from the doorstep. We haven’t seen them hardly at all due to covid and I can’t wait to see how excited they are about Santa coming!

DD2 was given a book token by the charitable trust in my village set up in 1849 by the village school mistress that still supports education for the children in my tiny (47 houses) village. So touched that her legacy is still going.

DramaAlpaca · 21/12/2020 17:05

I've been working stupid hours over the last few weeks and I'm shattered. I got called into my manager's office this morning and told I was getting an extremely generous bonus to reflect all my hard work. After the year we've had it was totally unexpected and I'm delighted.

nuitdesetoiles · 21/12/2020 17:05

Went for a lovely walk round an NT property gardens and house. Really lovely and xmassy, friendly and kind volunteers who chatted to DS and me.

gabsdot45 · 21/12/2020 17:06

When I got to work there was a gift bag full of goodies there.
I work in HR in a factory and it was from one of the women who works in production.
I don't even know her. She gave some goodies for my colleague too. So sweet of her and totally unnecessary.

nuitdesetoiles · 21/12/2020 17:07

Also only noisy started working as a uni lecturer. DDS friends auntie is a student on the course I'll teaching on. Found out via DD that she'd told her niece my lecture was the best shed ever been to.. I've only been doing it 2 months! ☺️

HintOfVintagePink · 21/12/2020 17:08

I took the children to drive in cinema, which DH had booked as a lovely treat for us whilst he worked today. I’ve secretly been dreading it for a few weeks as DC are 3 and 7 and cannot sit still .... it was lovely. The children were entranced and we definitely made a memory today.
