so...
I had received a text from my Doctors on Friday which I missed.
I'd spend the weekend thinking that either I was going to have to self-isolate or that my biopsy results were not clear after all...

Turns out they want me to pop in for my HRT review and a blood pressure check. The HRT is fabulous. The blood pressure is normal.

The only problem is that the receptionist and I didn't really want to get off the phone as we were enjoying our lovely normal chat. I told her to keep fighting the good fight.

A much awaited, beautiful Christmas card from my best friend in Germany arrived this morning!

DP had to panic order a Christmas present for his DSis yesterday (he thought he'd ordered it already and found he hadn't) and it's about to arrive!

I am quite fragile today and DP has done every little household job I normally do on top of the ones he normally does to make me feel better.

Delicious lasagne leftovers for lunch!

@ILoveToSing

After months of applying for jobs after being furloughed and then made redundant I have 2 interviews including one this afternoon. Even though I may not get it just getting the interview has made me really happy!
Yay. Good luck. It's so horrid not knowing when and where the next pay check is coming from.

I live overseas and won’t be seeing my (adult) children or parents at Christmas. But I found chocolate oranges in a supermarket here today!

AriesTheRam · 21/12/2020 13:46

I thought lidl had run out of my favourite wine then saw a stash of it in the wrong section.Bought the lot.

DD and I just went for a visit to her new pre-school from January. She was really distressed going to her previous pre-school, but she loves the new one! Now watching Arthur Christmas, eating my way through the biscuit tin Smile

I've just returned to work after lunch and have a lovely cold can of coke to get me through the afternoon. I also have 3 parcels at my feet, they were just delivered and are full of lovely goodies - I'm saving opening them for another little while!

dayslikethese1 · 21/12/2020 13:49

Have a pizza in the fridge for tea, bought last of the Christmas food yesterday and my cat sat on my lap and purred in my face earlier.

Also, I have been really worried about some work related stuff and my team have been really lovely about it and are helping me.

dayslikethese1 · 21/12/2020 13:50

Oh and I'm nearly off work for Christmas, just 2 more days.

countbackfromten · 21/12/2020 13:53

The very lovely woman in Waitrose stopped tidying up the other day and got the cheese cutting board out of the washer so she could cut me a piece of my favourite cheese when there wasn’t any left at the end of the day. It has been a bloody awful week and her kindness was hugely appreciated.

I have found the radiator key and fixed the bastard boiler, so now we have reliable heating and hot water again.

Also, in self isolation because my husband has covid. A neighbour dropped round some milk and eggs for us. I tried to pay her, but she said it was on her as a Christmas present :)

ILoveAnOwl · 21/12/2020 13:55

It's my daughter's birthday. She's having a lovely time and is very excited by her unicorn cake!

CarryOnFestiveNamechanging · 21/12/2020 13:59

I’ve got my appointment for a vaccine trial vaccine confirmed. Fingers crossed it’s the vaccine not the placebo. it’s my only chance of getting a vaccine in the next few months so I’m excited.

ImAllOut · 21/12/2020 14:00

My children both went to sleep within half an hour of starting bedtime last night (which has never happened in nearly three years!) so I drank gin, wrapped presents and watched TV. It was so peaceful.

Deepfilledmincepie · 21/12/2020 14:00

My DS7 had snuck into my bed in the night, and I was woken to him telling me "love you, mumma" then when I opened my advent calendar, there were 2 chocolates behind today's doorSmile

excuseforfights · 21/12/2020 14:02

I’ve had 2 Christmas presents when I wasn’t expecting any. Both from work. I forget sometimes how important interactions fulfil a function missing elsewhere.

GameSetMatch · 21/12/2020 14:05

Electrician is coming to fix the kitchen light today, I’ve been cooking with a head torch for over a week!

SwedishK · 21/12/2020 14:06

I have a similar one to yours OP. I had pre-cancerous cells removed from my cervix a few weeks ago after an abnormal smear test and they did a biopsy as they thought there was more which weren't visible. Either pre-cancerous or cancerous ones. Today I got the letter to say that they were were pre-cancerous ones and I will be treated for that in January. I have been so worried for weeks that it was going to be bad news so today I am celebrating with some Swedish saffron buns.

Tallpaulwho · 21/12/2020 14:07

I have discovered all the Great British Christmas Bake off episodes are on All4. I'm having a cosy day cuddled up with my DD watching and eating biscuits. Oh and a loud purry cat. My idea of bliss.

sarahC40 · 21/12/2020 14:07

Three cups of tea and counting from my youngest and he tells me he’s going to hoover. That’ll do.

Ellapaella · 21/12/2020 14:11

I'm going for a back massage and reflexology session shortly. Can't wait - been very stressed and tense lately so hoping this is going to set the tone for a relaxed, pressure free christmas.

cerealkillah · 21/12/2020 14:11

A hug from my teenage DD this morning
The kids are being civil to each other
Everyone I work with is so lovely, and whilst we are all remote, every day someone makes me smile

Iamclearlyamug · 21/12/2020 14:12

It’s my DD 9th birthday on Wednesday, poor thing can’t have any proper celebrations but when I got to work today my boss had organised a mini party for her with presents, snacks and games to play - just the 3 of us. It was lovely ☺️

veejayteekay · 21/12/2020 14:12

Although not the Xmas we planned and we can't see anyone as we are in a tier 4 area, my small happy hope is that we are moving house in January for a fresh start back in my home town around my family and to be closer to my mum. It'll be the first time I've been able to live where I work without a huge commute and when I'm not feeling selfishly sorry for myself about xmas it's the thought getting me through all this doom and gloom

Dilbertian · 21/12/2020 14:14

My eldest finally made it home from university late last night. He was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition in spring, and it had been so difficult to let him go and cope alone, especially in the middle of the pandemic.

He came home glowing with health. SmileSmileSmile

Gson · 21/12/2020 14:18

I’m working from home today and I’ve have had a lovely long chat with a colleague over a cup of tea and I think we really cheered each other up!
