Back story

When I met my now husband in 2013 I had a dark plum red hair colour ( will try to attach a pic ) around 2017 I dropped it to black then brown and now with the new year coming in feeling inspired to lose some weight and bring back that colour ..

I told him this morning over breakfast and he responded with ‘ you have had your time ‘ ... I’m 37.

Is there some kind of unsaid fashion rule regarding hair colours and age //.

I saw a gorgeous mini dress in a shop window and pointed it out to my husband. He told me I’d look ridiculous as I was too old to show my legs now.

That colour is gorgeous.

I think there is a limit for hair colour, but it's based on personality rather than physical age. I know some 70-year-olds with brightly coloured hair that really suits them, and others it would look wrong on. It's a state of mind thing.

If you believe you can pull it off, you probably can!

I volunteer with a lovely lady who has different colour hair pretty much every time I see her, usually pinks, purples and blues. She's in her late 70's. You're never too old to have what you want!

What? 37 IS your time! I was only having my 2nd dc at that age. Now I’m almost 44 and am feeling (and am looking) the best I ever have. I have black roots and blonde ombres (which I put bright red on occasionally) and it’s cut in a long wedged bob.

What a strange thing to say. Is he worried you may attract more attention?

You are telling him what your plans are, not asking his approval. I'm 56 I want peacock hair (can't link as my computer's ability to link is broken but it is a gorgeous mix of purples and greens and blues)

What does he think about Helen Mirrens pink hair then?! I'm older than you and dyed my hair pink on my two (recent) maternity leave
