Reusing gift bags

A conversation that occurred with my Mum today
DH asked me while I was on the phone if we had any gift bags left, joked about cutting the previous tag off.
My mum then asked me if reused gift bags and seemed shocked that we do. I've got one that seems to come back on a biannual basis for example.
She claims that no one does this (except my DHs family, as obviously we do to get that particular one back

So are we the only ones?

(They get retired when they get grotty. But they still last a few uses!)

I reuse almost every gift bag. When I give presents out I don’t write on the tags so that others can reuse them. I make sure they are presentable of course and try not to give back to the original giver if I can.

My Nan use to open her presents very delicately and neatly fold the paper so she could resume it.

Added benefit is its great for the environment, reuse & Recycle ♻️

Ooh yes, I re-use gift bags. I make tags out of Christmas cards. I also save the little bits of ribbon from Christmas crackers to thread through the gift-tags.
My family are used to me.

Yep i have a large gift bag full of gift bags and posh carriers. Why would you bin one?

I also save the string that comes with baubles and decorations. I use hooks instead, but the silver and gold threads are perfect for home made gift tags.

This (see attached image, evidence of a MN rarity) makes me smile...

We have a box in the loft labelled 'Christmas gift bags' we always save them! I also never write on the tags of them either so other people can reuse theirs if they want to.
