I just don't get all of the fuss and hype over a greasy little sausage wrapped in a scrappy bit of bacon! I would much rather have an extra turkey on my plate instead. None of my family like them either, are we unusual or are there others out there who agree?

Pigs in Blankets are essential. I made Toad in the Hole with them yesterday - it was amazing, and I highly recommend it!

Homemade ones are awesome

@gaggiagirl I'd try M&S, theirs are usually very good. They do seem to sell out quickly. They're easy to make with chipolata sausages and streaky bacon if you can't get any otherwise.

The sandwich chain EAT used to do a pot of mash, gravy and pigs in blanket at Christmas. It was amazing and following after work festive drinks it was the best lunch to have the next day to get you through the hangover

Well more for the rest of us I’d say!!
I don’t get excited about them as such they are nice and break up the Turkey somewhat.
I do like Turkey however, although find it a tad dry so prefer leg meat none of this Turkey crown nonsense.
I’m not making my Christmas dinner this year so I’m dreading it, I like things done how my mum does them (& me when I cook it) so will cook a Turkey anyway
Am so hungry right now

This is the clearest example of

YABU

I have ever seen on this site

The strong feelings on here are hilarious! Are pigs in blankets a British Institution??
I can't bear the thoughts of the flabby white sausage under the bacon even if it's cooked though Envy

@Womencanlift EAT’s pigs, mash and gravy is the thing I’ve missed most with all this lockdown/WFH malarkey - with the crispy onions on top. They were outstanding Grin
