To ask something you’d love that you can’t ever have

Is there anything in this world you would love to do or have that just isn’t an achievable goal? You know when people say you can achieve anything if you set your mind to it? Well, the thing you can’t have either way.

Mine would be to adopt a child. I have all the love in my heart to give to adoptive children, I know I could love them just as my own and deal with the challenges unconditionally. Unfortunately I have a mental health diagnosis, two previous (malicious) reports to Social Services and a DP who doesn’t feel the same on the subject. I do have biological children but I will always dream of adopting.

Is there anything for you?

I would like to be able to stay in my house and not have to sell it in 2 years when the mortgage term is up.
I can't repay it so have to sell.
I've lived here for 23 years and I have no idea where to go.

I also wish I could go back in time and spend time with my parents. So many things I want to ask them and tell them.

Holothane · 14/12/2020 22:21

To be slim not hate my body,

KylieKangaroo · 14/12/2020 22:21

@chillibeansauce what's a white woman's weave? I'm intrigued!

Linnet · 14/12/2020 22:24

I’d like to own a piano. Sadly we don’t have space in our flat for one so we’d need a bigger house and we don’t earn enough to buy a bigger house so we’re stuck where we are, with no piano.

sweetkitty · 14/12/2020 22:25

I would like loving, supportive parents please. Is it to late to put myself up for adoption aged 45?

Ginflinger · 14/12/2020 22:25

To share the mental load equally with my partner

Amerimoon · 14/12/2020 22:25

A penthouse in Paris to escape to on weekends

To be able to jog again. My knees gave out a decade ago, and while I can cycle for miles, do yoga and cross-trainer, nothing for me beats the experience or the effect of just running out the door into fresh air with headphones on.

winechateauxjoy · 14/12/2020 22:26

To be anxiety free.
To have had more time with my gran.
To be in the EU.
To be with my family this Christmas.
To write a best selling book.

XmasShopper · 14/12/2020 22:28

Btw I'm not an exercise fanatic who actually does all those things weekly! It's just they are the things available to me and they don't really compare to jogging.

Thehop · 14/12/2020 22:28

To look normal, I’m 41, and a size 24. I’m disgusting and can’t seem to do a bloody thing about it.

Lowhangingfruit · 14/12/2020 22:29

Too match the amount of pregnancies I have had, to the amount of children I have who are alive.

LunaNorth · 14/12/2020 22:29

For my partially sighted son to have perfect vision.

Lowhangingfruit · 14/12/2020 22:30

Too not be reliant on medication as well.

Mousehole10 · 14/12/2020 22:30

To have had a happy childhood and be loved by my parents.

To not be in pain every day

littlebentcock · 14/12/2020 22:33

To move back to Northern Ireland. Miss it desperately, Moved away five years ago and have been miserable ever since.

YakkityYakYakYak · 14/12/2020 22:33

I always think how amazing it must be to have a great singing voice.

My DD would probably like it too so she doesn’t have to listen to me screech along to the car radio every day

PhyllisAndLucille · 14/12/2020 22:33

A couple of big fluffy ragdoll cats-we live in our perfect home-an oceanfront top floor apartment in QLD-underground parking, pool-everythings absolutely perfect apart from the fact of the no pets policy...

Bobbybobbins · 14/12/2020 22:34

To have a cat (my DH is allergic)
To have a more 'typical' experience of parenting (both my DS are disabled)
To have nice hair
To be able to fly

MilkRunningOutAgain · 14/12/2020 22:34

Good eyesight and hearing.

A decent sized kitchen which will fit more than 1 person and will store enough food / utensils for me to be able to shop less often and do a few fun cooking things.

LivingMyBestLife2020 · 14/12/2020 22:34

To eat proper bread, cakes, biscuits and pastry. I’m Coeliac so never going to happen
