I am past caring now.
I feel for people who didn't want Brexit. Who know all the implications and can see the issues that are coming.

But if you want No Deal Brexit and it fucks you up, tough shit.

You wanted it. You get it. You own it.

And pardon me if I don't give a shit anymore about you.

@randomer

20 year council housing waiting lists Thankfully no longer an issue since Thatcher sold them all.
And I'm not sure how true that statement is either. I worked with homeless families in the early to mid 90s and they generally received an offer of a council property within 6-10 months. In London.

@chomalungma

It will be interesting to see how other economies recover compared to the UK economy post Covid.
It will be very interesting to compare with EU countries over the next five years or so. On the whole Europe hasn't tackled Covid all that well, especially when compared with countries in south east Asia. Which means that the Covid excuse won't be as strong as it might have been, not that the Tories won't milk it for all its worth.

Adding to the mix, the possible break up of the UK within say 10 years?

just stop. You will not be the poor victim of a "stalker". You are the lowest form of human life form who is trying to deflect and focus blame on someone else. It is none of you're business why anyone spends 4.99 or whatever on anything. That is rich coming from you :)
reading through my previous threads This is a public forum so whatever you write can be used against you at any point in the future. It is the nature of the internet. Being annoyed that someone uses it (for agenda or not, doesn't matter) is quite hilarious.

I don't care what she wrote or didn't. I would like to see you (and your kind -- brexiters) to stop trying to play the victim of bullying after you write such utter nonsense that normal people have no other option but to tell you to go and suck a lemon or try to reason with facts. But the first - again evokes a long tirade of how the righteous brexiters are always being picked on/bullies/stalked/... the later one just usually doesn't get an answer as it would require knowledge and logic.

@jasjas1973

Just because someone votes leave and then applies for a EU passport doesn't make them "the lowest form of human life"

Thats ridiculous, she hasn't murdered her children.

fair enough. I did get carried away.

Do you mean Labour and the Libdems ? Who refused on numerous occasions to back May's BRINO (Brexit in name only deal) staying in Customs Union and Single Market. I do.

I think you will find that Boris Johnson and the ERG also refused to back May's deal.

It's pointless to speculate now, but I do wonder how Covid would have been tackled if they had done, and May's government had soldiered on. Johnson with his large majority is having difficulty laying the blame for the Covid mess at the Opposition's door, although he is trying hard.

In the 90's maybe now 30 years later population and immigration changes have increase the waiting lists tenfold.

Even if they do, neither side will have time for ratification -- ergo: there will be a shitshow of a january

Even if they don't, there will be a shitshow of a January. I still believe a deal can be reached and should be the prefered option.

even if they do2: what exactly will they be agreeing to?

I am almost past the point of caring, as long as whatever is agreed doesn't cause too much disruption and chaos.

even if they do3 - businesses are in a position that they don't know what is happening in ONLY 17 days!

Boris has been very explicit in his feelings about business ! Although I believe he has a fondness for ones with big fridges Wink

@frumpety shitshow of a January, February, March .... this isn't a short term situation. It's just dreadful.

But really it shouldn’t be a surprise that some people who voted to remove our freedom of movement then rushed to secure their own - or that a Leaver came to this thread to boast about still having freedom of movement.

Just look at the Government that has been voted in.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 14/12/2020 08:40

@PortraitOfAWoman

I don't think leavers voted for no deal. I'm sick of all of this on MN, It's democracy so get over it. not everyone gets what they want.

Also, no one knows what Brexit with a deal or n deal will look like for years and I suspect the EU will collapse as lots of other countries will follow the Uk.

Sorry, but that's nonsense. It's evident that a bloc of 27 acting together for trade, political and humanitarian purposes will continue to do well, as opposed to each individual state acting on their own behalf.
KenDodd · 14/12/2020 08:44

Johnson with his large majority is having difficulty laying the blame for the Covid mess at the Opposition's door, although he is trying hard.

I wish this were true but I've given up hope of the Tories being held to account for anything they do. They just point the blame elsewhere (even if that's at the last Tory government that they were part of in Johnson's case) and the country will nod along and vote for them. I thought after seeing people in food banks saying the would be voting Tory last year they couldn't get away with anything worse but then this year we had people burying their relatives while saying what a great job Boris and co were doing. It's just astonishing. And Johnson's racism and misogyny! All the things he's said and written over the years! Tory voters just don't care.

Iggly · 14/12/2020 08:45

All sensible countries should aim to have a trade deal with their closest partners. Makes sense.

Unless you’re a leader of course and are conflating trade rules with something else. And don’t understand what trade rules are about. Or sovereignty. I mean look at the EU, one large blob and you can’t tell the difference between France, Germany, Italy, because they’ve given up their freedoms abs act as one.
Oh,
Wait,
They don’t.

Hmm
Iggly · 14/12/2020 08:45

*leaver not leader 😂

KenDodd · 14/12/2020 08:51

Sorry, but that's nonsense. It's evident that a bloc of 27 acting together for trade, political and humanitarian purposes will continue to do well, as opposed to each individual state acting on their own behalf.

The other thing I think Leave voters fail to understand is the power of big business. Do they not see how big business plays countries off against each other. If countries stand and act together big business have no choice put to play by the rules, be it on tax, workers rights, health and safety or whatever. The so called freedom to diverge from EU law on these things Leavers are so desperate for just allows big business to force a race to the bottom.

endofthelinefinally · 14/12/2020 09:03

I really struggle to understand why anybody thinks the EU should offer us anything. We flounced. I am so sad and upset about it all. Not to mention embarrassed at what fools Boris Johnson is making of us all.

Which of course is one of the main reasons that extremely wealthy business owners funded the Leave campaign.

That is it in a nutshell. Due to the actions of the Leave voters and the actions of Boris the buffoon, writ large, we are now a joke. It is humiliating, not just embarrassing.

Yes, it seems completely acceptable, and even normal, to behave in this distasteful way. Those people don’t know any better. The moral compass has been shattered.
