After finally watching game of thrones, DP and I have found ourselves with a little disagreement that hopefully Mumsnetters can clear up...

During the series there were about 2-3 1 second cock shots and every time DP would say 'ooh a cock shot for you' (because if you haven’t seen it there are a million and one naked women shots) and no matter how many times I tell him 'I personally don't want to see penises flopping about on screen and I doubt many other women (and men) do either' he just wouldn't have it...

Gave up on GoT because the pointless nudity and unrealistic sex scenes (3 mobile young ladies sprawled naked over one bloke etc) made it feel like I had invaded the imagination of a 14 year old boy.

I've always thought it was weird why there is such a difference between flaccid and erect penises on screen. Why is it that erect penises are more offensive than that same penis flaccid? So, you could theoretically show a 6" flaccid penis but not a 6" erect penis, even though they are both the same size. Why is one deemed suitable viewing but no the other? Why are vulvas ok? Why are tits and nipples okay?
What is the arbitrary cut off point? Is a semi erect penis ok? Is it the angle of the penis/amount of blood flow inside it? It's just so mental! It's just a fleshy body part like many others. Maybe not the most attractive thing in the world according to your tastes, but what makes it more distasteful than an arse?
