Why am I upset? It's just a coat, but I've taken it personally. I feel he's insulted me

Probably because I thought it looked nice on and I thought I lioked good in it and I've worn it a lot in recent weeks.
Now I find out it looks horrible on me and makes .me look old?

If you like it you just wear it, could you speak to friends? I’ll be honest and say I’m not keen, it’s not something I’d wear as it just wouldn’t suit me & I’m not a lover of green. However I’m not you, and you’ve chosen a lovely new coat you like and he knows you like it, I think he’s been quite insensitive. I think you’re owed an apology & I’m sorry if you now feel bad about your coat. Just wear it, enjoy it and I bet it’s really cosy warm!!

Ugh, feeling your pain OP, my dh has spoiled my feelings towards several outfits because of that kind of comment. At least I know the (rare) compliments are genuine lol.

Tell him he isn’t some kind of fashion judge and he sucks for spoiling your enjoyment of your new coat and if he can’t say something nice then don’t say anything.
