Carrie Bradshaw - A CF, right?

She's a pretty self-obsessed shit friend, but a CF too, right?

I rewatched an episode the other day where she needed to buy her apartment and she expected Charlotte to sell her engagement ring to fund the purchase Shock

I reckon if SATC were real, Miranda or Charlotte would be on MN gushing about their best friend being incredible and everyone would be calling Carrie a CF and advising them to go NC.

Nobody gives a shit about whether James Bond or Jason Bourne are good "role models", we're told just to enjoy it and not read too much into it. It's only stuff for women that's always supposed to be worthy and edifying.

Oh yes, this. When SATC debuted in 1998 Carrie was hailed as a revolutionary. Yet we Australians were horrified at her profligacy, especially regarding shoes and handbags: "Bloody hell, $2000 on a Fendi baguette? That's a return airfare to somewhere interesting!" Or Carrie hobbling around Paris, annoyed that the Russian had other things to do: "What the--? Dump all that designer shit in a consignment store NOW, then go and see Europe, you provincial bogan!"

Still like Sam and Miranda, tho.

Carrie is far too co-dependant to go travelling on her own. She'd much rather complain to "the Russian" (Hmm) or her mates.

Anthony was the best!

Charlotte: Can you imagine anything worse than being blind and not being able to see a beautiful day like today?

Anthony: Stonewashed jeans with a matching jacket.

I've started it again, haven't watched it since the first time around years ago. But I still love it!!
I'm on season 2, Carrie was a bitch to Big a few times. The time she got drunk and took the 'performance artist' home when she was with Big. Then she finished with him because he might have been moving to Paris. Then 2 minutes later she kopped off with Jon Bon Jovi.
She was a nightmare girlfriend!
Love Samantha any day of the week.

MrsDoctorDear · 20/12/2020 23:36

Also I took my dad to see Kim Cattrall in Antony and Cleopatra in Liverpool. We had front row seats.
She was absolutely floorless, word perfect. We were mesmerised!

*flawless (bloody auto correct)
*Anthony!

When are we getting this bloody edit buttonHmm

Excellent news. Women in their 50’s are massively underrepresented on TV, looking forward to this.

Trulyatraditionalman · 11/01/2021 08:42

Yessss came here to say this. I'm so excited. Hopefully they've learnt from the films, and sad there will be no Samantha (don't kill her off!) but adapting the characters to the modern day and representing women in their 50s is hugely exciting! I can't wait. 🌆💕

boxingdayclearout · 11/01/2021 08:50

Just seen this. Check out SJP's Instagram this morning

DressingGownofDoom · 11/01/2021 15:27

Ooh. Not sure how I feel about this. The films were rubbish!

DressingGownofDoom · 11/01/2021 15:28

Wonder if they'll have killed off Samantha 😬

PunkyRooster · 11/01/2021 16:04

TLDR

Just leaving this here - as it might entertain someone

PunkyRooster · 11/01/2021 16:05

Nine ‘episodes’. I think he’s quite funny

Crimeismymiddlename · 11/01/2021 16:27

Carrie was the worst. In theory, if they existed the other women would have ditched her a long time ago-maybe Charlotte would see her for a pity lunch every year or so. She was just so childish, never helped them out yet expecting help with everything-including funding her deposit. That would have done it for me if I was Charlotte, traumatic marriage break down trumped by your friend being a cheating stupid idiot.
