Duemarch2021 · 28/11/2020 22:43

It makes me so angry that people are protesting about lockdown... yes its frustrating but it's being done for a reason... to try and prevent as many deaths as there would be without a lockdown... they are selfishly spreading covid and yhe police have to put themselves out there and risk their lifes to stop the gatherings! 😠 What do they think will happen!? That government will say ok- ok you win... go wild, have fun and mingle lets just forget covid now!?.....Does this make anybody else absolutely fuming at the human race!!!?

@Livelovebehappy

The government have decided on the rules, and aren’t going to do a U turn just because a couple of thousand people take to the streets in protest. It’s just not going to happen. They’re just wasting their time and prolonging the shit show for the rest of us. But as they say, you can’t argue with stupid.
You should support the people fighting back against a corrupt Government
Cattenberg · 30/11/2020 20:20

I don’t think the protesters have thought that far ahead, @Jumpingjosephene21.

The problem with anti lockdown protests is they are talking some dangerous nonsense that may encourage people not to wear masks and break the rules.

Sounds like a pro-Trump rally. I can see Farage leading one of these soon.

Shewhomustbeobeyed1 · 30/11/2020 20:31

We had protests here in Aus. It Spread the disease.

wanderings · 30/11/2020 20:52

Even the protesters know that the government is not going to do an immediate U-turn (much as Saint Boris loves U-turning when it suits him). But it will make the government think carefully about doing more of this in future: that's what the protests are about, showing that future things like this will not be tolerated. Some of us are writing to our MPs regularly: we might be pissing in the wind by doing so, but we are making damn sure it's on the record that not all of the public supports Boris's mindless quest to completely eradicate the virus, at the expense of absolutely everything else. He's painted himself into a corner with the "pledge" to do so; he can't bring himself to admit that lockdown creates more problems than it solves, because keeping face is all that matters to him.

I still say that one reason the government has dragged this out for as long as it has is because in lockdown 1, the public were so docile, so obedient, so believing of the lies, spin and promised miracles, so willing to grass on their neighbours, so willing to support for the new religion normal of "Save the NHS - nothing else matters, not even your job, your income, your children's education, your mental health", so willing to believe that lockdowns and face nappies coverings were the perfect cure, that the government thought "we can easily have a second lockdown, no problem, the public will accept it". We need to protests to show that this is not the case. And the fact that the government banned protesting is very worrying indeed.

SheepandCow · 30/11/2020 20:57
@SheepandCow But what about the ppl Gove may infect IF he was incubating the virus. You not being concerned what he does makes no sense, Surely hes just as capable of passing a virus on as anyone.

So why are you dismissing it
I'm not concerned? Of course I am. I'm as disgusted by his actions as I am by anybody else who risks spreading it. I can't stop him (or the others) but I can express my disapproval. Which I'm doing here.

When I said I don't give a shit about him, I meant I'm not going to copy what he does. Just as I wouldn't jump off a cliff just because he does.

And Uncle Boris has told us (with his nose long enough to go twice round the world) that "the vaccine won't be compulsory" - he's going to make it compulsory by stealth. He and his merry men are damn well going to make sure that the plebs won't be able to have a life without it; they'll play the card of "we knooooooooooooooow that we ruined the year for you, you've seen just how much we can ruin your lives. If you don't have Uncle Boris's vaccine, we can ruin your lives even more. Is that what you want? Is it? Is it?"

And is being treated like that what we want? This is another reason people are angry enough to protest.

SheepandCow · 30/11/2020 21:00

That's my conspiracy theory. The deliberately not wearing a mask and refusing to socially distance protestors hate the elderly and the disabled and the NHS. They want to Spread the Disease.

"That's my conspiracy theory. The deliberately not wearing a mask and refusing to socially distance protestors hate the elderly and the disabled and the NHS. They want to Spread the Disease."

@SheepandCow you've got to be kidding. Please tell me you're kidding. The amount of crap you post is actually mind boggling. And what's more frightening is you appear to believe it!

Krampusnacht · 30/11/2020 21:05

@wanderings I can only hope that more people start to open their eyes and stop the country sleepwalking into something far more sinister than covid.

Nomoreboobs · 30/11/2020 21:06

@squiggle88? The vaccine will kill us?

MadameBlobby · 30/11/2020 21:09

@squiggle88

I’ve never been one to be overly opinionated as I’ve been brought up to just accept everyone will have there own opinions on things and to prevent unnecessary arguments, it’s best to avoid getting into confrontations and change the subject if you. HOWEVER, I have all my hopes for the future pinned on these protestors! I’d love to go and protest myself but it’s not something I would want to take my 3 wee boys to so instead, I am trying my best to share my information and knowledge with as many people as I can in the hope that they will wake up to what is actually happening right in front of them! This virus has been blown so far out of proportion and I can’t believe how many people are now living in abject fear! I’ve not seen my granny since last Christmas and she’s made it clear that she doesn’t want to see us until this all blows over... I genuinely don’t think I will ever see her again as the fear and isolation will kill her. Right now, we are on the train to Auschwitz and, even when presented with facts taken directly from the government and WHO’s websites about what is really going on, people are so brainwashed, that they actually think we are on our way to better times; so long as we all get the vaccine, we can get back to normal... 🤦🏼‍♀️ As soon as the government start rolling out the vaccine and people queue up like sheep to receive theirs - that’s when the real trouble will start and people will be dropping like flies. A mass culling of the population and the government is well aware of this! I am not someone who is easily scared but I am genuinely terrified about what is going to take place over the coming months. Individually, we don’t stand a hope in hell of changing anything but we do have the numbers and if everyone was to stand up and refuse to obey the governments stupid rules and regulations, we would succeed! People have fought in wars, given their lives for us to have the freedoms that we have, yet here we are in the year 2020, handing all our rights over without hesitation! I urge and beg every single one of you to go on brandnewtube . com and watch as much as you can before they are taken down. These are videos from doctors, scientists, experts and many more explaining (a lot better than I have) exactly what’s going on.
Eh?

Eh? People deliberately refusing to follow safety guidelines - like masks and social distancing. Guidelines advised by the scientific and medical experts worldwide - including the WHO and BMA.

Given their behaviour, it's reasonable to conclude the aim was to spread the disease. Whether that's why they attacked the police, I can't say. Perhaps, or possibly they just fancied a punch-up as well.

And yes, you're right. I do believe the medical and scientific experts, and I'll continue to post the "crap" that they say.

Oh how disappointing! I was hoping it would turn us into birds - controlled by the giant Big Bird robot.

Not disgusted at all.

I’m not a conspiracy theorist but worry we are losing our civil liberties. Plus my DD is under two, not in nursery and I’m devastated to think how this has all affected her.

And for what? A virus that kills a very small percentage of people, some of whom wouldn’t unfortunately have lasted much longer anyway.

Yes we should take sensible precautions. But that doesn’t mean turning into a totalitarian state forced to obey arbitrary and ridiculous rules. Eg you can eat in a crowded pub but can’t sit across the room from a family member at a distance in your house.

It’s time the public pushed back. While we still have a right to protest!

The government should help those most at risk to shield, providing them with financial assistance and MH support. Everyone else should be encouraged but not forced to take sensible common sense precautions.

keffie12 · 30/11/2020 21:27

I agree with you OP! Believe me if you knew me you would know how much I dispise everything this "government" (not in my name) stand for.

If I say I am a remainer who has fought the B word all the way and will continue with what is being done in the background, then you will know how much I despise this arrogant, racist, xenophobia lieing, propaganda, hypocritical government

However lockdown and the necessary are needed. The government like everything has handled it badly however that doesn't matter in this. We need to comply

As for those on the protest however many have or are asymptomatic and will pass it on and on

So yes it is correct they are broken up

480Widdio · 30/11/2020 21:29

@squiggle88,most of the adverse reactions are going to be sore arms. All adverse reactions to vaccines are recorded if possible,so of course they need a new software programme, this is a new vaccine!Nothing more sinister is going on,my daughter has done a lot of work on Covid and the vaccine and it is safe.

Feel sorry for you if you actually believe all that tosh you have written, even more sorry that there could be people you are influencing to not have the vaccine.People whose life it could save.Shame on you.

Nomoreboobs · 30/11/2020 21:36

@Areweallsheepnow82 I also have a young Dd not in nursery, how do you think it’s affected them at this age?

Cattenberg · 30/11/2020 21:38

If the government wanted to cull us in large numbers, they are far easier ways for them to do it than via a new vaccine. They could sabotage an existing, routine vaccine. They could sabotage the mains water supply...

Most health workers and medical researchers care a lot about helping people. Why would they all go along with a plan to cull us?

The vaccines have passed safety trials, and I believe it’s rare for a vaccine to cause any long-term side effects.

However, we do know that Covid 19 can cause long-term health issues, including permanent lung damage.

GCAcademic · 30/11/2020 21:58

Right now, we are on the train to Auschwitz

Fucking hell. What a thoroughly disgusting thing to say. Have some respect.

You might have completely lost your marbles to the YouTube cult, but you could at least refrain from this kind of offensive analogy.

Duemarch2021 · 30/11/2020 21:59

Once again... I'm not saying people shouldn't have the 'right' to protest.. this post is not about rights... it's about people having common sense... the virus spreads amongst people who are close together (obviously, as viruses do!), so people who want the virus to fuck off quickly in order to regain their 'feeedom' gather together in thousands to shout and rant about the government!? Potentially passing the virus around again and again and again.... it's just common sense that they should think "best hadn't gather together in nassive groups right now at this very moment" I'm not saying that they shouldn't have their opinions or that people don't have the "right" there's a difference between having a right and using your common sense

@Nomoreboobs

I worry my DD has been way less socialised than would be the case without COVID.

She’s hardly seen her grandma or other family members. We’ve had to cancel play dates and meet-ups. The mum and baby groups and soft plays are shut. She must think it’s normal for everyone to wear masks in public.

I just feel so sad for all of the things we could have done if not for COVID. Eg taking her to the library (she loves books) or to a toddler stay and play where she’s allowed to touch the toys and roam freely. Or even strangers smiling and talking to her in the supermarket without a stupid mask on. Or seeing her family and cousins regularly.

I know it’s all trivial in comparison to death. And she’s still loved etc but it’s still sad.

Do you think your DD has been affected?

There are SO many killers out there.

Passive smoking kills - no one is banning cigarettes.
Alcoholism kills - not banned.
Cars kill - not banned.
Many many viruses kill - yet we’ve never been banned from socialising in such an extreme way.

I was 100% for first lockdown but I think we’ve seen the nightingales can cope.

It's absolutely disgusting, but not surprising. It is the far right, afterall, that is behind a lot of the protests, anti containment measures, and anti vaccine nonsense.
SheepandCow · 30/11/2020 22:08

And we all know how the far right viewed the vulnerable.
