To be fed up of people without a baby/child parking in the baby/child bays

It drives me nuts.

Totally selfish.

Are some people so bitter/obnoxious/bored/don’t give a shit about other people, that they would deliberately park in a p&c space without good reason, purely in the hope that someone can tell them off?

Are they the same people that refuse to wear a mask too? You can add that to your game of bingo. Also, some people might be new here so haven’t read the previous threads about the parking subject.

ghostyslovesheets · 27/11/2020 22:24

Oh do we win bonus bingo points for hyperbole?

JumperooSue · 27/11/2020 22:26

If I can’t get a parent and child space, I just drive around and find an end space, then I park so the car seat side is the side with no parking space next to it that way I know I can easily get the baby in and out as no one can park next to that door and I always have guaranteed access to one side.

HunterHearstHelmsley · 27/11/2020 22:26

@EssentialHummus

I agree with others about putting them further away, just wider. If I’m in a foul mood and catch someone clearly able-bodied and child free coming back to one I say a jolly “Oh dear, you seem to have forgotten your child in the shop! How silly of you!”
Someone got their child to say something similar to me a few years ago. I told them I hadn't forgotten my child at all! This was the child return centre.

😂😂 Maybe it’s because they are nearer
Girlyracer · 27/11/2020 22:30

I just want a big space so clumsy twats don't ding my car door. But I wouldn't park in disabled. Parents and child however.....

Bogardicia · 27/11/2020 22:32

I’m glad you both managed to identify yourselves by my description Wink

I’m glad you used the tea try little emoji I associate with you.
AdobeWanKenobi · 27/11/2020 22:33

Oh OP are we only worth 2 lines? 6 words of text then you disappear. It's almost like you posted in the hope of getting everyone frothing isn't it?

Shame the bingo dabbers came out instead.
HOUSE! 😂

Feministicon · 27/11/2020 22:34

I wear a mask, it’s simply not the same thing.

Feministicon · 27/11/2020 22:34

Twatty emoji even

Feministicon · 27/11/2020 22:35

Seriously, if you can’t park your car get a smaller one or advanced driving lessons.

Oly4 · 27/11/2020 22:35

Why on earth just because I’ve selfishly had children should I get to park closer than a 70year old on her weekly shop?
Makes no sense to me. My choice to have kids

Bogardicia · 27/11/2020 22:38

Parking in p&c without good reason is selfish and lack of thought about anyone but yourself. Same as not wearing a mask for no good reason.

Grin
Feministicon · 27/11/2020 22:41

I have children 😂 if they are with me I park there, I wear a mask, you’re pretty imbecilic to compare the two.

Sh05 · 27/11/2020 22:42

I got shouted at once for parking in a p&c space. It was nearly 10 pm so oh went into the store with newborn and I filled up the tank then parked up to pick them up. This was before our store became a 24 hour one so was nearly closing time. The carpark was nearly empty but she still have me a telling off then sat in her car waiting to see if I really was waiting on oh and baby!
Honestly it's a convenience but with our other children I stopped needing those spaces as we had a fixed base so never needed to take the car seat out.

Exactly! But people are more and more entitled and get bigger and bigger cars that they simply can’t park and take zero responsibility for that.

@ghostyslovesheets

FightingWithTheWind How could a grown adult get in but not a baby?
Well you don't just take the baby out the seat and chuck it in the back of the car through a cracked in the door. An adult can squeeze past, car seats and not so easy to squeeze in Hmm
Gancanny · 27/11/2020 22:43

How do you define "good reason" seeing as 'good' is a completely subjective term?

Unless you work for the carpark operator then its none of your business where someone else parks and not your job to determine whether they should/shouldn't be parked there.

Bogardicia · 27/11/2020 22:46

Grin Yes, a 13 year old must really need that extra space Grin I do love this non twatty emoji.

Really though, this can be prevented by just leaving the car seat in the car where it belongs and putting the baby in a sling/pushchair/pram/infant seat of a trolley. Its better for the baby to not be in the car seat, better for your back, and saves you from not being able to get the seat back into the car.

pistolknight · 27/11/2020 22:48

I park In the parent and child spots as they're the closest to the door

--I have a blue badge

Nicknamegoeshere · 27/11/2020 22:49

Today it was a single chap, I'd say he was late 40's. I'm guessing it is because the spaces are nearer to the shop entrance?

Nicknamegoeshere · 27/11/2020 22:50

No blue badge on display.
Disabled bays free.

Why do you need the extra space? You don’t know that my 13 year isn’t disabled.. you don’t know anything. The spaces are called parent and child and they aren’t enforceable. You not being able to park your own car is not comparable to someone with a disability, mind your own business and invest in a advanced driving course
