To blame you all if my Chinese takeaway is ruined?

Have just ordered our dinner, and included the salt and chilli chips for the first time ever, purely based on all the threads that rave about them Grin

I had always assumed that they were just on the menu to satisfy the
unadventurous diners, along with omelette.
However I was reading old threads few weeks ago, and lots said otherwise.
I've been waiting for our takeaway night to test it, and now here we are.

Chinese food fans, how do you rate these chips? Are they really different to chippy chips? How so?

Will you post a review? Will there be pictures?

jennie0412 · 27/11/2020 18:07

Please give us a full review complete with pics!

Backbee · 27/11/2020 18:09

Yes pics and a review!

AvoidingRealHumans · 27/11/2020 18:10

Also need pics and a review please.
I've never tried these either.

doctorhamster · 27/11/2020 18:11

There's no such thing at the chinese takeaways in my area Sad

lolbrador · 27/11/2020 18:11

They are bloody marvellous, apparently the secret ingredient is the MSG. I'm now cancelling pizza night and ordering a chinese Grin

Inpersuitofhappiness · 27/11/2020 18:13

Fucking hell. Now I want a chinese.
I want these chilli chips.

Please do tell us what they're like.

MrsGradyOldLady · 27/11/2020 18:13

You should have ordered salt and pepper quid or prawns. Amazing. But salt and pepper chips better than no salt and pepper dish at all

nancybotwinbloom · 27/11/2020 18:13

Photos and a review are required.

I want a Chinese now.

I have chicken in the oven though. With Aldi Katsu breadcrumbs on and I have microwave rive and m and s Katsu sauce. Super quick no effort tea. I hope it's nice.

But it won't be as nice as salt and pepper chips. We have salt and pepper boxes in Liverpool.

MrsGradyOldLady · 27/11/2020 18:14

Squid obviously not quid

NuniaBeeswax · 27/11/2020 18:15

Eat them and find out.

Bluetrews25 · 27/11/2020 18:17

Placemarking for the pics and review.
And not ashamed to admit it. Grin

SantaMonicaPier · 27/11/2020 18:17

They are amazing. The flavour is just spicy enough and I love the contrast of regular and spring onions, even my kids will eat them and they dislike spicy food.

Changedmynameagain1 · 27/11/2020 18:18

They are amazing!! Home bargains do a good replica of the spice mix, add onions and chilli and peppers and booommmm

Changedmynameagain1 · 27/11/2020 18:19

@nancybotwinbloom we have them in Leeds too - amaaazzzing!

ladygracie · 27/11/2020 18:20

They do taste different definitely. We always have chips with a Chinese.

Spanglybangles · 27/11/2020 18:23

They are amazing, awesome with curry sauce. I keep a tub of the home bargains stuff in the cupboard or when I fancy some home made stylee.

Pradababe · 27/11/2020 18:23

Chilli chips make life worth living...really hope you enjoy them

JustBumblingAlong · 27/11/2020 18:25

Yes to salt and chilli chips, and definitely yes to salt and chilli squid! We get that every single time

confusednotcom · 27/11/2020 18:28

Oh my gosh, might look for a chinese tomorrow, chips ahoy!

SlopesOff · 27/11/2020 18:29

We don't have them here, but there is a very nice salt and pepper tofu with bits of chilli and spring onion. Not strictly speaking Chinese but a fusion restaurant with lots of sushi and a full menu of Chinese things.

Took · 27/11/2020 18:33

Chinese chips are amazing!
I often send my DS to get some just as a side with whatever dinner I've made.

HollyandIvyandallthingsYule · 27/11/2020 18:37

Ohhhhhh I want some.

Elfieishere · 27/11/2020 18:38

Never had them. I want to see...

NeonIcedcoffee · 27/11/2020 18:38

I'm invested in this now. Please review with pics
