To ask DP to stop farting on the new sofa?

Not the most pleasant topic but our last sofa was really stinky where my DP sat (same spot all the time). Every time he sat down there’s be a woosh of stale fart/cabbage smell & I could smell it at other times too. I hate it! I’m pregnant as well so I can smell everything even more now!

The new sofa is starting to go the same way I’ve asked him to stop farting on the sofa & to plump up the cushion & flip it occasionally but he’s not too happy about this! 😁

Anyone else have the same issue? Any ideas too for how to combat this? The sofa has been treated with anti stain stuff so I don’t think we’re meant to wipe it down. I also tried febreeze sprays on the last sofa but it didn’t cut it.

This is definitely a thing... I don’t know what the solution is apart from not farting into the sofa in the first place???

Yes... let’s just say I lived with someone who had very bad wind 💨 and yes their chair stunk.

He needs his diet looking at! I have never heard of such a thing and (I thought) DH is a foul trumper!

DPs car smells of farts. Luckily the sofa he sits on is leather so doesn’t hold the stink.

So gross! Had no idea this was a thing.

But on the body and smells: the smell is from bacteria (same with BO - the smell comes from the bacteria, not the person as such). So I would suggest keeping the sofa as clean as possible. Does it have removable covers he can put in the washing machine?

Farting that stinky points to something being off with his digestive system or his diet. When I met my DH he had smelly farts but he ate fast food. Eliminated all fast food and no more smelly farts.

This thread has really made me think twice about second hand sofas.

What about long haul aircraft seats... < not envy.
