To think she's perfect?

In a nutshell, I'm jealous of my sister in law.

She's slim, blonde, very beautiful, got a good job, dresses great, went public school and she's really confident, my in laws love her and she has a lot of friends. She has very rich parents and a gorgeous home, no money worries etc and she seems nice too!

I hate myself for it but I'm so jealous! She is simply better than me in every way.

How do you overcome this?!

You can only see the outer covering selfimprove rather than inside which may well be a hornet's nest of insecurities. She may work hard on making sure that this outer shell is 'perfect' due to all sorts of concerns.

This is so true. Some people from public school, wealthy families have enormous social pressure put on them to be perfect in every way at all times. They feel like unless they are, they have failed. And they envy people from families where being 'good enough' and just jogging along in life is perfectly acceptable, or people in a relationship where putting on a few pounds won't raise eyebrows and comments.

When I was younger and me and my friends saw girls like this we would always remark "bet she's got terrible thrush". It made us feel better!

Also remember comparison is the thief of joy

LOL, that is evil! Thrush (if recurrent) is nasty!

But I can see why you might say that... Hmm

I had a friend who was so bloody stunning it wasnt fair. Slim, pretty, chestnut shiny thick long locks, bright and nice person to top it off. I felt positively ordinarily next to her I look back at photos now and realise I was fabulous just not as fabulous as her. Age and wisdom equal us all
