Ever just order a curry on a Friday night, or get shitfaced together and have wild sex? Do they clean their children's vomit or does the help do that? Do they ever just slob around the house all day like slobs? Do they ever shout at their children? Do they ever swear?

So many questions! I just can't picture them being normal people.

@ZaraCarmichaelshighheels. You’re mad, I definitely want someone to wash my smalls.🤣
I spend so much time washing and folding clean clothes—-of course, it’s also a way to do a chore while watching Netflix.😈

LaurieFairyCake · 18/11/2020 15:51

Doesn't look all for show to me Hmm

They're not ACTORS - they look happy.

Every time I've seen them they are as normal as they can be - they get to be much more normal in Norfolk as the grounds aren't overlooked. So they can play with the dog in the garden, the kids can be in the paddling pool - that's all pretty normal.

In London there's usually someone watching and I'm sure they're really aware of that.

RubyViolet · 18/11/2020 15:51

I know someone who sends her smalls to the dry cleaners. Along with all the washing and bed sheets.
Staying the weekend l had to agree that the bedding does feel extra special and like crisp hotel bedding.
Pretty extravagant though.

Jux · 18/11/2020 15:51

I don't know about the Queen making herself a cuppa, but I'll bet she's gone down to the kitchen in the middle of the night and made toast; possibly even had beans on it. Or an egg.

Crinkle77 · 18/11/2020 15:52

@PucePanther

They can’t just order a curry, their food will be very carefully checked and supervised by security in case someone tries to poison them. They undoubtedly have nights off but I doubt they do their own cleaning. Even I wouldn’t do my own cleaning if I could afford someone else to do it!
Surely one of the staff would just ring an order through as any normal customer and wouldn't tell them who it was for? Then someone would just go and collect?
Cupcakegirl13 · 18/11/2020 16:00

I’ve heard Prince William on radio 1 giving an interview a few years ago and one question was what is their fav takeout he said it was an Indian but that someone goes to get it for them Grin

TableFlowerss · 18/11/2020 16:00

I always imagine that William and Harry in the past have day there after a few pints abd said ‘look at us in the royal family can you believe it?’ I imagine they are a good laugh behind closed doors.

I really like them all. I’ve got a lot of time for William and Kate and Harry and Meghan when they were part of it.

I can’t see them having one too many sherbets then arguing with each other like me and my OH though.... 😂

KatherineJaneway · 18/11/2020 16:02

Don't they have chefs? Why would you order a takeaway if you have someone to cook for you?

Because the black daal at Kanishka is amazing!

They just get a staff member to order for them and collect, no need to say who it is for and worry about security.

96315id · 18/11/2020 16:03

Anyone who has ever worked in a staffed household will know it’s nothing like a normal family. I am sure they do bits and pieces of cooking for the children, clearing up mess etc. But it will be as and when they fancy it. So maybe Kate would sometimes cook the children’s meal while nanny plays with them. The kitchen staff will clear up after her. Then the nanny might do the children’s bath and toothbrushing before one of the parents reads their bedtime story. Just examples of how these things can work.

That is very similar to my life and I consider us a normal family. Just substitute 'mother's help/nanny' for staff. I don't know what aspect of this is so odd.

Ah yes! I forgot that places exist where takeaways actually taste better than what you could cook yourself!

My dh was in royalty protection for 4 years before he retired a few years ago.
He used to see George regularly at KP with the Spanish nanny. He would put his sirens on for him. He said he was a dear little boy.
Charlotte was a baby and cried quite a bit.

Kate used to use the gym that the protection officers used.

I think they look very well suited and are doing a good job. And they usually get favourable press. There must be satisfaction in that. I expect they are much like typical very upper class people behind the scenes.

sunflowerstory · 18/11/2020 16:09

There's a Dishoom right by Kensington Palace - if they can resist the black daal with a side of okra fries then maybe they really are Lizard People.

Pippin2028 · 18/11/2020 16:11

With a body like Kates I imagine she doesn't have a weekly takeaway and because of who they are, the food they eat probably has to be specifically supervised. But they are humans and I'm sure they lose it like the rest of us do. They just can't fall apart in front of us! If the rumours of trouble in the marriage and wills affair are true, Kate must be an incredible actress because the body language between them is always good.

I find that last bit odd. Surely they would have a fully equipped gym at Kensington Palace? Is Kate really going to have to sweat and pant in front of (mostly male) protection officers?
ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 18/11/2020 16:21

I agree iced surely they have their own high spec gym at Amner and KP? I can’t imagine Kate would want to work out in front of other people.

Why do you care?

Why do you have "so many questions"?

Why do you feel compelled to envision them as "being normal people"?

What is the point of this thread?

So many questions!

WitchesSpelleas · 18/11/2020 16:26

I just can't picture them being normal people.

They're not 'normal people'. They lead a life of unimaginable wealth and privilege, seemingly unaware that the money that's lavished on their designer clothes, limousines, Norland Nannies, staff, houses, jewellery etc. etc. etc. could feed dozens of impoverished families for years.

The sooner people in this country wake up and realise that the Royal Family are parasites on the backs of decent hardworking people, the better.

Course they do. Quite a few 'normals' have a decent home gym, so you can be sure these two have the works, with their own trainers coming to visit. No way is Kate getting into her trackies and pounding the treadmill in front of the security officers!
Standrewsschool · 18/11/2020 16:28

Princess Margaret

This book is written by Princess Margaret’s Lady in Waiting and mainly chronicles her own life. However, interspersed throughout it is her friendship (from childhood) with Princess Margaret and the other royals. It’s a fascinating insight into royal life, what Princess Margaret and other royals are like in everyday day to day life, behind the scenes at royal events such as the coronation etc.

rattusrattus20 · 18/11/2020 16:32

I daresay they live a life that would seem fairly ridiculous to most of us.

No real 'work' as such but then more or less constantly 'on duty' [other than on the half dozen or so 6 star holidays they take per year].

Kate [helped by hired hands] probably spends far more time fretting about her appearance than is even nearly healthy for a woman entering early middle age.

Who knows what they get up to in their 'normal' moments.

dottiedodah · 18/11/2020 16:39

AriestheRam I seem to remember reading some while back now that they ordered a Curry takeaway on a Friday evening! Obv sent the Butler to collect I guess .Thing is when you think about it ,most things people do ie watching Netflix ,ordering Takeaway ,and so on appeals to all classes of people!(All Human beings at the end of the day)!

WeAllHaveWings · 18/11/2020 16:47

If I could afford the help they get I would not be down on my hands and knees scrubbing my ridiculously expensive carpet/or sofa of children's vomit!!!

Obviously all that time saved not googling how to get carrot vomit stains out of a cream pure wool carpet can be put to good use actively supporting the country their granny rules over through a pandemic.....🤔

JinglingHellsBells · 18/11/2020 16:52

I think PW has talked openly about his love of a takeaway curry.

Catherine has allegedly said many times she is happier in jeans and jumpers than prissy dresses.

As for his 'affair' it's all speculation and I personally doubt it and think they are happy.

If you believe the rumours, she took a lot of persuading to join the family as she;s very shy and wanted a normal life.
