Ever just order a curry on a Friday night, or get shitfaced together and have wild sex? Do they clean their children's vomit or does the help do that? Do they ever just slob around the house all day like slobs? Do they ever shout at their children? Do they ever swear?

So many questions! I just can't picture them being normal people.

I imagine the recent affair last year has taken the passion out of the sex. Kate might just lie back and close her eyes, staying together for the family.

IrisAnon · 19/11/2020 20:27

My sickeningly wealthy friend and her family were on holiday last year - the kind where everyone is über wealthy so not there to spot celebrities. K&W and children were apparently there and my friend said that despite it being paradise on earth and W was having a great time, K was miserable looking and rigid at all times, despite no one paying them attention at all. They did have lots of protection officers, but then other people had bodyguards too. I do like K, but I do imagine that she’s had to tie herself up in knots to snare and marry W and be the perfect wife. Not a relaxing role at all. And I do think she really wanted to snare W. The backstory seems to indicate that.

LucyAutumn · 19/11/2020 21:44

Didn't Kate have a takeaway pizza brought to the Lido wing shortly after giving birth?

RightOnTheEdge · 19/11/2020 22:36

They seem very natural and happy with each other in that radio 1 video.
It made me laugh when William said "before Harry came along and spoiled his Easter" then laughed and said "sounds familiar" 🤣

I suspect that holidays for Kate are not as fun as we might think. She's been photographed on holiday on multiple occasions, including topless. She's clearly a sun worshipper but suspect if she wasn't she'd happily hole up at Amner instead of most holidays. Probably loves skiing holidays as more options to do it discreetly without being recognised.

Agree with other posters that a nanny meaning that she can cook dinner without kids bothering her or skip the nightly arguments re bath and teeth are the benefits. We had a part time nanny for a while and it was so wonderful to come home to children in pyjamas with teeth brushed ready for the lovely cuddly part. With homework etc, I often wish we had a nanny still so that I could do homework with the kids while she cooks or vice versa! Doesn't need to be a full team but an extra person, who is a professional and paid to do things when you want them, how you want them, is astonishingly appealing.

mrscampbellblackagain · 20/11/2020 11:40

So much misogyny and classism when Kate is discussed, 'snaring' him, honestly! I think both Harry and William married up. Let's face it if they were normal blokes I think it highly unlikely they would have married such beautiful women.

And maybe Kate felt slightly awkward on holiday as was aware that people were staring and her and observing she looked ummm awkward, I wonder why Grin

SleepingStandingUp · 20/11/2020 17:34

I think William was still good looking when Kate met him, I think they'd have married younger without his baggage so she's have been in before the hair was out.

Meghan and Harry wouldn't have been in the same circles if he just came from a wealthy English family, perhaps he'd have married Chelsea, it seems it was the bagge that put her off

CleverCatty · 20/11/2020 17:49

@PicsInRed

but I think they probably do eat takeaway instead of roast swan on occasion

😂 I bet there's a palace curry recipe for swan.

LOL. snort curried swan Grin
AmICrazyorWhat2 · 21/11/2020 00:30

It’s strange how some people lose their looks quickly- he was gorgeous when younger, really reminded me of Diana. Now he’s a proper Hanoverian! Poor bloke.

I think he still looks like Diana in the face but losing his hair really did for his looks. Some men can carry off the bald look, but William is not one of them.

Nice body though.

TheChristmasPrincess · 21/11/2020 14:17

I remember from an interview, they admitted they used to get take outs all the time at their cottage in Anglesey and then just chill out and binge watch box sets. They said they still do occasionally get take aways, but they get someone to go and collect it (I think they said because if they order delivery to Kensington Palace the restaurant thinks it’s a hoax). Kate likes curries and spicy food, William prefers pizza and Chinese food. I remember Harry said he likes Nando’s after his protection officer introduced him to the chain 😂

I think I remember reading K&W try to be as involved in the kids parenting as they can. They do school drops offs and try to be back home before their bed time. Kate has also been seen taking the kids shopping with her at Sainsbury’s numerous times. Kate is apparently the stricter parent, which I think you can tell, as she is the one who told G & C to be quiet at Pippa’s wedding, and she was the one who dealt with Charlotte’s tantrum on the tarmac. The nanny probably does discipline them but I imagine major decisions would be discussed and agreed with the parents first. They are away from home a lot so I imagine she has to be given a lot of authority from the parents in order for her to be taken seriously. But they do have childcare issues from time to time. I remember there was an incident where K&W were meant to be going out to an event in the evening but Kate had to stay home because one of the children were ill, it was the nanny’s night off and Carole wasn’t able to come over on such short notice. It was nice to see she wouldn’t let any old servant look after her kids and she wanted to stay home and comfort her poorly child.

It seems like she is still very normal in some aspects, which isn’t surprising considering her middle class upbringing. But from everything I’ve read, William enjoys the normal aspect of the Middleton family’s lives and tries to emulate it where he can. Diana was a very hands on parent and put an emphasis on having a normal childhood where possible, but obviously he lost that influence when she died. Which is why I think he was so drawn to Kate and her family.

P.S I love both Kate, William, Harry & Meghan. It doesn’t have to be either or, you can like both of them, or like one without having to hate the other 🙂🥰

How many are in the year for history of art at St. Andrews? She obviously had the grades to get in (they rejected me though years prior) . She would have had to applied before it was announced William was going there, deadline was months prior[/quote]
She had almost a year to apply because William was taking a gap year. She had accepted a place for History of Art at Edinburgh that year and was due to start there imminently with two of her closest friends, but after William's plans were announced she withdrew and decided she would also take a gap year and apply to William's course at St Andrews the following year. The course was also flooded with applications from American girls apparently. Her teachers and careers adviser at Marlborough have confirmed it had always been her dream to go to Edinburgh. This scenario has been covered in various books and many publications. Her school friends have said that she always had pictures of William on her bedroom wall - just as Diana had pictures up of Charles on hers.

ajandjjmum · 21/11/2020 15:22

I have read the rumour that Kate had pictures of William on her wall, but she categorically denied it, saying it was the Levi man.

I would love to know specifically who said she had pictures of Williams, as I suspect it was a 'maybe' bit of gossip that has become 'fact' over time. Bit like much of 'The Crown' script!!

To answer your question: not that many. Maybe 70, when I did it. You could easily know everyone.

Floatyboat · 21/11/2020 17:33

Yeah there's no open evidence. I thought it was a widely accepted fact though. A bit like everyone knew the queen mum liked a drink, every knows Will likes to sow his oats or whatever term they use.

IrisAnon · 21/11/2020 17:36

To respond about my use of the word ‘snare’ - I don’t see that it has anything to do with sexism or class. It can work both ways and it’s also to do with wealth. They didn’t earn the name the ‘wisteria sisters’ at university for nothing and they were known to be part of a group of girls who would only consider titled, landed or rich boys at uni. Of course she set out to get him - and her feelings were clearly genuine too. I think she’s actually a nice but tense, highly competitive person who has done very well. W has also done well too.

ListeningQuietly · 21/11/2020 17:46

William chose Kate

is that such a hard concept to grasp ?

PrincessNutNut · 21/11/2020 18:11

So if I said, without irony, that you had "snared" your husband, you'd be fine with that?

It was Jessica Hay, who shared a room with Kate at Marlborough, who told about the pix of William on the wall. She also said that Kate often said things like "There's no-one quite like William". It was in their engagement interview that Kate got very embarrassed and denied it, but William said it was true.
ListeningQuietly · 21/11/2020 18:45

Half the public school gels of that era probably had pics of him on their wall

but he chose her

PrincessNutNut · 21/11/2020 19:07

He was very good looking back in the day, and even if he looked like the proverbial bulldog taking an unpleasant drink off a stinging plant, he would still be in direct line to the throne, plus he was always saying he didn't intend to marry too soon. Nobody snared him, he is and was a grown man who could have had pretty much anyone he wanted as the blonde future King. He obviously wanted Kate.

Why is it always women who are characterised as predatory social climbers? The "wisteria sisters"? Can you even name their brother?

IcedPurple · 21/11/2020 19:29

I see her in the same way (obviously I could be totally wrong). Behind that bland, English rose exterior is a spine of steel. Which is a good thing, because while her life may be incredibly easy and luxurious in many ways, you'd need to be tough to survive with life under a microscope.

Brother is called James.
