Ever just order a curry on a Friday night, or get shitfaced together and have wild sex? Do they clean their children's vomit or does the help do that? Do they ever just slob around the house all day like slobs? Do they ever shout at their children? Do they ever swear?

So many questions! I just can't picture them being normal people.

OP posts:
SchadenfreudePersonified · 18/11/2020 15:11

nothing wrong with swearing, wild sex etc if they want to

Oh, I'm not judging them "Catty - it was just an observation.

When I was at uni I met quite a few posh persons of both sexes, and their language could make a navvy blush!

Same with the ones I met as a conservation volunteer. If you took "f*ck" out of their vocabulary, many would be almost dumb.

Throughtheforest2 · 18/11/2020 15:11

I met her a few years ago in a changing room, with George and Charlotte running about! Was all very bizarre but she was lovely and seemed very normal.

MrsMoastyToasty · 18/11/2020 15:11

I once saw Prince Michael of Kent filling up his car with petrol. He had a man who I assumed to be a bodyguard with him, given the way the guy was scoping out the area. This was about 30 years ago before he dropped a long way down the line of succession.

Circusoflove · 18/11/2020 15:12

Anyone who has ever worked in a staffed household will know it’s nothing like a normal family. I am sure they do bits and pieces of cooking for the children, clearing up mess etc. But it will be as and when they fancy it. So maybe Kate would sometimes cook the children’s meal while nanny plays with them. The kitchen staff will clear up after her. Then the nanny might do the children’s bath and toothbrushing before one of the parents reads their bedtime story. Just examples of how these things can work.

LadyCatStark · 18/11/2020 15:15

They don’t seem the wild sex type but BIL once spent a few hours guarding them as their helicopter couldn’t take off due to wind or something and Kate made him a cup of tea so yes, they do do some normal things (although the fact they were being guarded by the police while waiting for a helicopter is definitely not normal 😂).

Wendyhaus · 18/11/2020 15:15

Has PW ever admitted to an affair? I have heard hints of it but no idea if it is true or who the woman was or is. Spies could be everywhere and confidentiality promises from staff and servants are bound to be broken at some point. It is inevitable.
I would also be surprised if the habits of the royals and their dubious private lives have changed for the better over the decades. Just waiting for the stories of Harry's cheating now.

SuperSange · 18/11/2020 15:16

Kate was never upper class; she was/is solid middle.

BlueBlueElectric · 18/11/2020 15:17

I imagine they would eat takeaway, as for their marriage who knows? It won't be a normal set up, how could it be but I'd imagine divorce is out of the question due to recent family history and not easier due to it. Either way I think Kate knew what she was letting herself in for she must be ok with it and get something out of it.

I don't get the fondness for the royal family myself, they are a totally archaic institution and should be wound down after the current queen is gone and let them all live normal lives.

Dragongirl10
Gosh all these posters saying this is a transactional marriage, shame on you...you have no idea, nor does any area of the press....
Imagine hurtful comments being discussed on the internet by complete strangers.....particularly when they cannot respond...

There's an entire industry devoted to speculating and writing on the Royal Family in the tabloid media and has been for decades.

By the standards of what's been published here this is incredibly mild and harmless.

Also why should they be protected from scrutiny because they're royal?

Fuck knows but H&M seem to be Hmm

I have worked in more than one staffed household and agree what you say is much like the way things work. Can't speak for every household but your description sounds bang on my experiences.

I've noticed this too. I suspect the truly posh are that self-assured in their poshness that they don't feel they need to put on a front.

KrisKringlesLeftNostril · 18/11/2020 15:19

Surely they don't clean up puke or other body fluids; if I had a fleet of staff, I would leave all that to them, too!
They probably have a chef, so can order what they like on demand.
Doubt they swear too much, especially in front of the children.

Bet Anne's a right off "off screen" though, especially in her younger days.

KrisKringlesLeftNostril · 18/11/2020 15:19

right laugh, that should say!

daisychain01 · 18/11/2020 15:21

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles

Do you think they go to the toilet like we do or is there a special royal method that they have? Hmm
But of course they have a different method.

They sit on the toilet, do their business and a golden-gloved royal hand pops out the wall with a fist full of lavatory paper to wipe the drips. Aloe Vera Andrex of course.

picklecustard · 18/11/2020 15:21

There are many photos of Kate looking quite drunk in taxis at the end of nights out, from their earlier uni days.

I am intrigued about what the set-up is like as a royal with a young family and what happens day to day.

PrincessNutNut · 18/11/2020 15:22

@SuperSange

Kate was never upper class; she was/is solid middle.
Her father has ties to the aristocracy. The family is upper middle class (or was before her marriage), if you care to think of things in that way.
PizzzaExpressWoking · 18/11/2020 15:23

I don't care about their personal lives (except where it relates to their status as publicly funded royals, press manipulation, exploiting their personal lives and family members for PR, etc.).

But it's appalling and so hypocritical that if anyone says anything about William or Kate that's not 100% positive, there's absolute outcry and they're called "vile" and all sorts of other names, yet the ten thousand past threads that existed solely to attack Harry and Meghan contained a million times more vitriol and often contained really nasty lies and libels invented by openly racist Tumblr hate sites, and no one except a handful of mostly non-white MNers ever objected to that, and those who did try to stand up to the vitriol became a target for mass abuse and even off-board stalking.

William and Kate are not perfect people who are above criticism. If you participate or turn a blind eye to threads calling Meghan Markle an evil narc whore then flip out because someone shared an opinion that Kate is out of touch or has a poor work ethic, then you're a massive hypocrite and need to address why you feel the two women should be held to such different standards.

JumpingJamboree · 18/11/2020 15:28

I'm pretty certain they did a radio 1 interview ages ago where they said they do like a good curry takeaway but obviously got someone else to order it and collect it for them.
In fact there is a recent video interview he did where he got one ordered in for the purpose of the interview -

HyperHippo · 18/11/2020 15:34

I think they are surprisingly normal. Kate grew up in a fairly normal (non-Royal) family who did all of the OP's tasks and I think William loves her and her family so much precisely because of the normality and escapism from the public eye and Royal way.
I think part of what makes them 'work' so well is that they want as much normality and grounding as possible for their children - and their sanity.
Yes they have a nanny, chef etc but I imagine they are used heavily when the Royals are doing engagements and very busy working. On other days and weekends when they are off duty, I imagine the staff take more of a backseat and they are very down to earth living not dissimilarly to George's classmates families (just with the security).

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 18/11/2020 15:37

Around 13:00mins they talk about ordering a curry in this radio 1 interview:

wildroseandpink · 18/11/2020 15:40

Love how many will comment on Harry and Meg but as soon as it's W&K it's 'vile'

They are people who are literally famous because of their bloodline, that's just fucked up. We have a right to comment.

It doesn't make it any less factual because you like them that Will and Kate have had some rocky times. There was a lot of evidence posted abroad towards infidelity. And the videos of Kate about to throw up whenever Will touched her were not faked.

I don't think their marriage is strong. I do think they get a curry and I do think Kate probably does do a lot of the work with the kids, I am sure she would clean up vomit because there's something quite entitled about calling in your servant to clean up your kid's mess.

wildroseandpink · 18/11/2020 15:41

well said.
AmICrazyorWhat2 · 18/11/2020 15:41

I agree with PP’s, why would you clean up vomit if you had staff?🤣 With so much help I doubt they get annoyed enough to shout at their children -they can walk away if they’re getting frustrated!

I think Kate’s upbringing strongly influences their family life, as PW seemed to enjoy being part of her family ( doesn’t he call his FIL “Dad”)? They probably work as a team and try to talk through their problems, rather than having blazing rows.

Carol and Michael Middleton seem like a solid couple with a stable marriage and I think that’s what K & W want as well. I’m not idealizing them, I just think that’s what they’re aiming for.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 18/11/2020 15:42

I wonder if Kate does her own day to day laundry? No matter how rich I was I would not want anyone washing my smalls! Same with their bathroom I would have to clean my own bath, sink and loo, some things need to remain private no matter how rich you are.

Whenwillow · 18/11/2020 15:44

I hope they have some fun.
I'd hate to be a Royal.
