Will Donald pardon the turkeys or will the turkeys pardon Donald?

Boris Johnson has just called Trump the "Previous president" in PMQs

Although Bill Barr telling prosecutors they should investigate voting irregularities has had much publicity (and condemnation), one point that should be mentioned.
At the moment all searching for evidence of voter fraud is being funded by GOP and their supporters.
Barr's investigations will be paid for by the US taxpayer.

PatriciaHolm · 11/11/2020 16:16

Georgia have apparently just confirmed a full hand recount. Not actually news, they said this would happen days ago as the margin is within 0.5%, but I expect Trump will seize on it anyway.

The disparity is almost 14,000 vote though so there is no chance of a regular recount going in his favour though.

BruceAndNosh · 11/11/2020 16:20

Full means the Senate etc votes as well as the Presidential ones?

TheNorthWestPawsage · 11/11/2020 16:22

Well DT has left the building to go to Arlington Cemetery to lay a wreath in commemoration of Veterans Day.

Another thread!

Apileofballyhoo · 11/11/2020 16:31

It's raining heavily and Mike Pence doesn't have a coat on. Watching the hypocrisy live is making me feel very angry.

TheNorthWestPawsage · 11/11/2020 16:44

I know Veterans Day is to remember the fallen from all wars. But Trump was 30+ mins late - no regard for the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

Apileofballyhoo · 11/11/2020 16:45

He has no respect for anything. Sad

SunniCameHomeWithAVengeance · 11/11/2020 16:47

He can't seem to stand still, it's very obvious next to everyone else. Swaying and fidgeting.

Roussette · 11/11/2020 16:51

If he was late, that's appalling, I've seen footage, it's bucketing with rain and lots of military there just stood.

Although the rain has eased somewhat now he has come out. Could he honestly honestly have refused to come out until the rain had eased???

Height of disrespect, not only to the Fallen but also to all those people waiting in the pouring rain.
Most probably had to double up on the extra strong hairspray

JoeBidenIsGreat · 11/11/2020 17:05

known to be very precious about the hair...

In the UK we have a system for preventing vexatious litigants

There IS such a process in the USA. I only know because I listen to All the President's Lawyers (fab podcast). Google "anti-SLAPP" laws. But only applicable in some jurisdictions, and don't always allow for recovery of costs.

ListeningQuietly · 11/11/2020 17:11

Trump is a busted flush
who will be in Rikers by 2024

Didn't he do something similar during his visit to France?

Roussette · 11/11/2020 17:20

he didn't go at all because of the rain.

I have no idea why he was late but the rain picked up again so maybe it wasn't because of that ran out of hairspray?

DuncinToffee · 11/11/2020 17:22

Lewis Goodall @lewis_goodall

Of the remaining states still in play, Trump will likely win two of them, Alaska and North Carolina. Curiously enough, the President appears to have no concerns about the election processes in these states.

DuncinToffee · 11/11/2020 17:31

The President of the United States is absent without leave
edition.cnn.com/2020/11/11/politics/donald-trump-schedule-election/index.html

No mention of him being late

JoeBidenIsGreat · 11/11/2020 17:40

Trump will schedule a campaign rally on the same day that Biden is due to be sworn in. Exact same time. THEN, Trump will actually be able to boast that he got a "bigger crowd! Humongous!"

MayYouLiveInInterestingTimes · 11/11/2020 17:43

Boris Johnson has just called Trump the "Previous president" in PMQs

I've found the fact that international leaders have been talking to Biden as President Elect immensely reassuring.

AcrossthePond55 · 11/11/2020 17:44

Again, this is the “Save our Majority” rally in Cobb County

But..but...but you no longer ARE the majority! The vote count proves that. What's that you say? If you're white you're automatically 'the majority' because 'those people' only count as 3/5 of a person? Right. OK

I see that GA SoS has ordered a complete hand recount of all votes in GA. What a waste of time and money!

ListeningQuietly · 11/11/2020 17:48

I see that GA SoS has ordered a complete hand recount of all votes in GA. What a waste of time and money!
But required under their state law because the margin between the two was 1%
in other states its 0.5%
The same would have happened in any other year

This is what bugs me about this election
so many people not realising that its proceeding in a perfectly normal manner
apart from the loser having no manners

AcrossthePond55 · 11/11/2020 17:48

If he was twitching and fidgeting at Arlington it's because he resents having to pretend he respects and honours 'losers and suckers'. He especially resents having to do it in the rain.

We, on the other hand, will remember them.

BruceAndNosh · 11/11/2020 17:49

I fast forwarded thru the Arlington footage.
Trump was at least 25+ minutes late, leaving everyone waiting for him in the rain, and he was in the Unknown Soldier square for 6 minutes.
6 minutes. Spoke to no one.

DuncinToffee · 11/11/2020 17:50

Back to the vote counting

Lewis Goodall @lewis_goodall

Daily dose of reality II

Current Biden leads vs Trump 16 winning margins

Michigan: 148,645/10,704
Wisconsin: 20,539/22,748
Penn: 47,603/44,292

The votes haven't all been counted yet. Biden is either nearly at or beyond Trump's "big" win in these states. This isn't close.

It's close in Wisconsin (much closer than the polls suggested) but it's not close in Michigan and not going to be that close in PA either. That's more than Biden needs.

In the meantime his lead in Georgia is at 14,112, almost certainly beyond the ability of a recount to flip.
