Will Donald pardon the turkeys or will the turkeys pardon Donald?

Thanks for the new thread. Here’s hoping some sanity starts to prevail during this one!

Zebracat · 11/11/2020 09:46

I feel very worried that all these defence sackings are preparatory to a coup. I know the military serve the country but it’s all so batshit. Surely what is going on is treason?

Lonelycrab · 11/11/2020 09:47

Thanks for the new thread.

Given that no significant evidence of fraud has been revealed, and that Trumps stance is basically refusing to acknowledge defeat, isn’t this exactly where charges of sedition would be used? I know very little about that process tbh.

I’m starting to worry he has something big planned. Nuclear war with Iran?

StartupRepair · 11/11/2020 09:48

What about Trump's alleged book deal? Can you imagine the narrative?

SandyY2K · 11/11/2020 10:12

I agree.

...and also that he has something very big to hide, hence he refuses to accept the democratic vote. Its like he doesn't want his mess uncovered......frightening.

Roussette · 11/11/2020 10:20

T'wasn't me suggesting thread title, happy with any, all good, thanks NorthWest, great new thread and reporting for duty!

Can I link this... oh yesssss....
The wonderful Ray Charles with 'Georgia on my mind'

Cheguevarahamster · 11/11/2020 10:25

Thanks for the new thread - now all I can think of is the Quantum leap episide where they played "Georgia" by Ray Charles at the end. That's my ear worm of the day. (and a very pleasnt one it is too.)

TheNorthWestPawsage · 11/11/2020 10:34

Sorry again Roussette and apols to Bruce
Need to clean my specs!

And what a fine ear worm that is to have for the day

If that’s the case we might as well call it a world war then, There’d be no winners so what would be the point.
SabrinaThwaite · 11/11/2020 10:46

Doesn’t Trump lose any Presidential exemptions from prosecution for state crimes, such as tax fraud?

Yohoheaveho · 11/11/2020 10:47

I think he would like to foment civil war but will be unable to drum up enough supporters , I think he might settle for restyling himself as a religious cult leader type person

Echobelly · 11/11/2020 10:48

I'm really quite worried they are going to refuse to let Biden become Pres, that even if (when, frankly) legal challenges fail as totally groundless they GOP will take the circular line 'We said they were going to cheat by postal votes and they won by postal votes, which means they cheated and we won'. They'll make America a banana republic.

ApolloandDaphne · 11/11/2020 10:50

Donald is the turkey surely?

Echobelly · 11/11/2020 10:50

That said, I doubt they can actually get enough militia to their side (they're not close to Washington for a start) or that the military would back them.

Most likely Trump will devote the rest of his life to bemoaning his loss at far RW events... it's ironic because he'll be obsessed with losing for the rest of his life whereas if he wasn't such a child he could feel pleased he put up a good fight and (for some ungodly reason) got even bigger numbers to vote for him than when he won!

EveryoneRevealsThemselves · 11/11/2020 11:04

Just checking in on the new thread! Thanks as usual!

Anon778833 · 11/11/2020 11:06

Melania is apparently one of the only people likely to convince him to concede.

AwaAnBileYerHeid · 11/11/2020 11:08

I think he'll just moan, bitch, huff and puff for a while, make a majorly bitchy speech then leave. And he'll be back for 2024.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 11/11/2020 11:14

Thanks for new thread!

goose1964 · 11/11/2020 11:17

I wouldn't be surprised if he left the States to go into hiding somewhere without extradition treaties.

Echobelly · 11/11/2020 11:25

I don't think he'll make a concession speech, he'll just flounce out the back door, having left as big a mess as a he can for Biden out of sheer spite, regardless of the harm that will do the public.

Yohoheaveho · 11/11/2020 11:28

@goose1964

I wouldn't be surprised if he left the States to go into hiding somewhere without extradition treaties.
That might be a pragmatic choice given his exposure to legal jeopardy But it's hard to see the big fat whiny wotsit being being pragmatic.....he lusts after adulation and the limelight, is highly impulsive and believes himself to be the chosen one I just don't think he'll be able to keep himself hidden
BoreOfWhabylon · 11/11/2020 11:30

Thanks NorthWest

I agree with Echo that he will never openly acknowledge defeat but will eventually slide out the back door.
