The thing is, Trump doesn't care if Rudi loses. He just wants to challenge these losses in front of SCOTUS, unfortunately he has to go thru the lower courts first. But I assume there is a procedure to get to SCOTUS otherwise every single lost case would end up there?

He's trying to build a narrative that "Everybody was in on it", with a possible thought of trying to end-run the 2024 selection process for the Republican candidate by making himself candidate-presumed now. Something I am sure has occurred to some Republicans who are happy to profit (literally) from the current confusion but who are not going to be quite so happy to give up their 2024 chances.

Well a good start would be to not get thrown out, really.

On the one hand it's refreshing to see the US legal system is as robust as this. But on the other hand it's a damning indictment to the world that it's money that gets access to courts. Not justice.

Ivanka comes across as cold and hard. It doesn't surprise me that she's a mini version of her father. Also she's the golden child.

The Trump campaign says it has transferred $3 million to Wisconsin to pay for a partial recount there. They are only asking for recounts in Dane and Milwaukee counties, the two most populous blue counties. The Trump team says that's where there were the most "irregularities."

He needs to be careful about writing off Rudi. He knows where the bodies are buried and likely needs money. As much of a tit as he looks now, in 2020, there will be people with very long memories who still think of him as America's mayor after 9/11. Indeed, he was a good mayor of NY and really did everything possible to hold the city together on that day. His prior behaviour is a key reason why what is happening now is so shocking.

I believe if he had a 'come to Jesus' moment and renounced Trump and started talking sense again, he could cause Trump and the family NO END of problems. This is not Michael Cohen we're talking about here, or even any of the other hangers on/cretins like Paul Manafort or Roger Stone.

I doubt it. The two jeniuses mentioned upthread would just say that was "proof" that everyone is out to get Donnie. Rudi being either replaced by a robot programmed by Clinton, or that any footage was deepfake, or that Rudis was being coerced into it because "they" have got his family in a pizzeria in Pennsylvania.

If this were a drama series instead of real life, I would expect Rudi to turn out to have been a double agent for the good guys all along. He certainly couldn't serve Trump worse even if he were.
