Will Donald pardon the turkeys or will the turkeys pardon Donald?

@maggiethecat

borntobequiet - I’m not dismissing the legacy of slavery in the US and the continuing impact it has on black Americans.

But I doubt that black Americans are distinguished by their lineage as they navigate their everyday lives and the enduring social and economic impact of slavery.

I think very many black everyday lives are terribly impacted. Van Jones after Biden’s projected win, particularly about 1min 20 in

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-election-2020/trump-concede-election-covid-susan-rice-b1723102.html

'Susan Rice, a former top diplomat and national security adviser during the Obama administration, is the latest in a group of bipartisan leaders saying Donald Trump’s refusal to concede the election and formally begin the transition process is harming national security.

“The risks to our national security are mounting,” she wrote in an opinion piece on Saturday in the New York Times.

“Vital exchanges of information and expertise that would help combat Covid-19 and jump-start the economy remain stalled,” she added in the article, and argued the delay could “cost us dearly in terms of American lives”.

Ms Rice has been part of three presidential transitions, and said that even after the contested 2000 election, which was settled in the Supreme Court, the outgoing Clinton administration strived to conduct a prompt, thorough process.'

Does there come a point when those in the relevant services can simply ignore Trump and start briefing the incoming administration anyway? Its not as if Trump himself has anything useful to contribute to the process.

I would guess that comes after the confirmation by the electoral college?

ApolloandDaphne · 15/11/2020 13:08

When do the electoral college confirm the result? Do you think Trump will concede at that point?

maggiethecat · 15/11/2020 13:12

borntobequiet - Van's outpouring of relief was very moving.

Black Americans, descendants of slaves or not, are impacted everyday.

according to google the electoral college meets on 14 dec to officially vote.

First time the President appears to concede that Biden won the election. Admittedly, he then follows it with unproven, unsubstantiated nonsense about election fraud. Perhaps this is the closes we’ll come to a concession.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

He won because the Election was Rigged. NO VOTE WATCHERS OR OBSERVERS allowed, vote tabulated by a Radical Left privately owned company, Dominion, with a bad reputation & bum equipment that couldn’t even qualify for Texas (which I won by a lot!), the Fake & Silent Media, & more!

anon444877 · 15/11/2020 13:47

Isn't radical left privately owned company some sort of logical impossibility? Seems good that Donald is allowing for the possibility he's out!

'White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany spectacularly broke the White House fib meter in an administration with an astounding reputation for lies. She gushed Saturday that the “Million MAGA March” in Washington to protest President Donald Trump’s election loss had more than a million marchers.

She was only off by some 980,000 people — and that’s being generous. Most estimates in the media were “thousands.” The Washington Post characterized McEnany’s tweet as “ludicrous.” '

"Comical Kayleigh" ?
maggiethecat · 15/11/2020 14:37

At some point can he be sued if he continues making unsubstantiated claims of election fraud? Surely he cannot continue to undermine the result?

maggiethecat · 15/11/2020 14:37

is it treasonous?

DuncinToffee · 15/11/2020 14:40

He didn't like people picking up the He won bit

He only won in the eyes of the FAKE NEWS MEDIA. I concede NOTHING! We have a long way to go. This was a RIGGED ELECTION!

maggiethecat · 15/11/2020 14:44

Is that the latest? Confused

lionheart · 15/11/2020 14:46

For a second there I thought it wouldn't be necessary for the #25 team to stage and intervention.

Is that another one that Twitter has hidden? Even his own lawyers have conceded that there were vote watchers and observers.
NurseButtercup · 15/11/2020 15:06

@lionheart

Thanks for sharing this link, I read that he was in a lot of debt and would be facing legal challenges as soon as he leaves the Whitehouse. The background via your link provides the explanation I have been seeking.

He's probably crapping himself! I predict that they will have to take Trump out on a stretcher.

DuncinToffee · 15/11/2020 15:07

No, it's not hidden on twitter nor can I see a warning

pinkbalconyrailing · 15/11/2020 15:11

isn't it in a narcicist 'playbook' that they might fake serious illness if they don't get what they want?

Twitter should be upping their 'this claim is disputed' warning to something stronger. If you click on it there is some robust content behind the tag but the BBC's 'this claim is without evidence' would be stronger.

It's getting loony.
