panelling?

Planning some decorating whilst furloughed and looking on Instagram for inspiration - fake panelling and F&B Sulking Room Pink are very popular!

Anyone else a fan? What are colours or styles for interiors are you interested in at the moment?

Well yes that's what mother and father of daughters have done so I guess it's in fashion!
I prefer more earthy natural style like thevitamindproject and emilyjanelathan than the super trendy stylised look!

Cocolapew · 09/11/2020 19:35

I'm on a couple of house fb groups and they are full of stencilled floors and , as you say, sticking panels up.
Dark paint is also very popular.

My ndn has put panelling up and it makes the room look smaller.

I'd think that the colour would seem a bit dull over time.

Lottle · 09/11/2020 19:53

That colour reminds me of bricks :-/

I don't get the grey obsession. I like browns, creams, greens :D

Dillo10 · 09/11/2020 19:57

I have olive green walls, black and cream/white accessories and some industrial touches throughout my house. It's not a "trend" more of a mix of trends I've seen and like. I think that's the best way really

Springfern · 09/11/2020 19:59

Looks like millenial pink to me

chunkyrun · 09/11/2020 20:03

It's not quite pink enough for me but an improvement on grey none the less

Colycola · 09/11/2020 20:06

MOD and FOD’s house seems to be very unpopular, I think it’s gorgeous.

Adamandtheaunts · 09/11/2020 20:06

Sulking room pink Vs freshly plastered walls - far too similar for my liking!

Not an unpleasant colour but also reminiscent of fabric sticking plasters...

Ratatcat · 09/11/2020 20:12

I like it but I also quite like the colour of freshly plastered walls. I would be tempted if I was decorating.

lazylinguist · 09/11/2020 20:15

Not a fan of panelling or pink tbh. But then I'm only ever on-trend decor-wise by accident! I still like pale grey walls (not the full-on Mrs Hinch with everything grey). The Scandi /Nordic retreat look is my favourite- I don't care if it's in or not!

sst1234 · 09/11/2020 20:18

Those pinks and that paneling is going to a GE so badly.

For once I'm in fashion before anyone else. My house has been those shades of pink for years...

musicposy · 09/11/2020 20:26

@sst1234 I thought that. I’m old enough to remember everyone sponging and mottling their walls with paint, and borders. Both looked dated very quickly. I looked at the panelling and thought, 15 years time that’ll stop a house selling because it’ll be such a nightmare to rip out.

Otterhound · 09/11/2020 20:27

I maybe odd but I’ve always thought F&B colours to be slightly sludgy - the sulking room pink being a perfect example!

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 09/11/2020 20:27

I would have been ahead of the trend had my landlord had the work done that's needs doing before I'll waste money decorating. I planned grey before it was trendy. Then planned pink. Now its trendy! By the time the work is done it will be outdated. I'll have to try and guess what the next trend will be.

FurForksSake · 09/11/2020 20:29

I've just painted the dining room card room green so I am probably not one to advise, but I am painting the cloakroom Dead Salmon... (Also about to do the entrance hall, stairs and landing in Hardwick White all colourmatched to tough Valspar). I quite like the sulking room, I might use in it in the guest room, with wevet in the en suite.

Purplestorm83 · 09/11/2020 20:29

Isn’t that just basically terracotta reinvented? When we moved into our house a couple of years ago the living room was two slightly different shades of terracotta -shudders-

piglet81 · 09/11/2020 20:33

(What is it with F&B paint names? Sulking Room Pink and Dead Salmon?!)

Hollowtree3 · 09/11/2020 20:33

That is not a nice shade of pink.

wallyb · 09/11/2020 20:35

Panelling hasn't ever really gone away has it, it just depends on the house whether it suits.

Baby pink was a thing a few yrs ago (this is the problem with instagram/influencers, it kills trends so quickly). Terracotta is the new grey I think.
