panelling?

Planning some decorating whilst furloughed and looking on Instagram for inspiration - fake panelling and F&B Sulking Room Pink are very popular!

Anyone else a fan? What are colours or styles for interiors are you interested in at the moment?

I think you’ll find grey is still very popular. It had not had its day

NullcovoidNovember · 09/11/2020 20:40

Op is that your house?

The hall looks very bland. Can you do a crisp warmer white... And something stronger below. Then art work.

MrDarcysMa · 09/11/2020 21:02

IMO panelling in a new build looks really silly. Looks like in older properties though.

VenusTiger · 09/11/2020 21:21

That pink can have a tendancy to look terracotta or brown in some lights, so be careful which wall you apply.

fashu · 09/11/2020 21:23

My room is a champagne pink, my husband was really worried but it looks lovely! not girly at all, but really bright!

Winterwoollies · 09/11/2020 21:25

I think grey will date better than the pink colour. It looks too much like the colour of old ham, or a dry tongue or a keloid scar, for me. 😆

fashu · 09/11/2020 21:25

I think it's called blush pink. Works really well with Grey

laudemio · 09/11/2020 21:25

Gah I love sulking room pink this is annoying

TopCatlivedinadustbin · 09/11/2020 21:26

Nope

I quite like terracotta! Grin
Beamur · 09/11/2020 21:32

DH will be delighted. He's liked terracotta since it was popular before Grin
A friend of mine has just moved into a house where every room is grey. It's dismal.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 09/11/2020 21:34

My walks are (still) 'freshly plastered' except, not so 'freshly' now. It's very 'Provence'. Perhaps if the plaster was grey I'd have been more motivated to paint them 🤭

I don't like dead salmon or sulking room pink, but it's your house...

I'm going white/grey because I LIKE it, I guve not one flying fuck whether it's 'on trend' or 'had its day'

TheNanny23 · 09/11/2020 21:41

This is actual sulking room pink in our bedroom.

I quite like the colour but have found F&B paint awful. We have to re- paint relatively frequently as it scuffs and then peels uncontrollably.

Seeking recommendations for a nice wallpaper that would go with the bedding.

Something with a large geometric print that picks out a colour from the bedding but doesn’t ‘over-chince’ the room?
romeolovedjulliet · 09/11/2020 21:52

why the horrible name sulking room pink ?

Christmasfairy2020 · 09/11/2020 21:58

I've bought touch of violent for my kitchen and extension Grin grey floor and blinds. No way will any panelling be going up Grin

CountreeGurl · 09/11/2020 22:03

Fake panelling seems really tacky to me, unless your property is the right era. Like plantation shutters....

TheDoctorDances · 09/11/2020 22:10

Oh bollocks, I really want panelling but I hate following “trends.”

I’ve avoided grey for that reason as it’ll look so dated in a few short years.

Reborn2020 · 09/11/2020 22:10

IMO the grey and the sulking pink are very dull. But then bright pint too much. Choices, choices.

I understand why grey with another colour to lift has been popular. It's difficult to lift sulking pink with anything

OpEd · 09/11/2020 22:11

Decorate to suit your house, your lifestyle and your taste. 🤷‍♀️

Pink and grey was v fashionable in the early 1980's. Everything comes back into fashion!
Reborn2020 · 09/11/2020 22:13

Dead salmon. There's a colour tone to avoid.
Puke yellow, although I don't mind mustard.

I think the 70's was all brown and orange.
The 80's really funny green, blue or pink plastic baths.
The 90's - no idea
Then there was magnolia over EVERYTHING
The of course grey

Is it now sulking pink and dead salmon - please no

I agree.

I fear I have overinvested in this thread.

Off to pour a glass or two - white walls all the way - crisp and clean

NC4Now · 09/11/2020 22:17

I prefer cinder rose to sulking room pink. I’ve considered it for my bathroom, with panelling (Victorian property)
