panelling?

Planning some decorating whilst furloughed and looking on Instagram for inspiration - fake panelling and F&B Sulking Room Pink are very popular!

Anyone else a fan? What are colours or styles for interiors are you interested in at the moment?

We have original panelling in our house and was told by someone it was 1920's and your article has pretty much confirmed it was arts and crafts era. That's cheered me right up - as I try to ignore the artex everywhere else **

Gringlad I could help.

Love the fireplace @lazylinguist I'm a huge fan of the bright colours with neutral backgrounds.

CirceOfAeaea · 10/11/2020 15:57

We’ve done our house out in arsenic, citron, and inchyra blue. So many colours is a nice change from grey!

I do want pink in our bedroom though and calamine and cinder rose are both lovely (can’t decide). Tried peignoir but it was far too grey/sludgy

Winterwoollies
I think grey will date better than the pink colour. It looks too much like the colour of old ham, or a dry tongue or a keloid scar, for me. 😆
These are all great names for Heritage type paint colours.

Terracotta & biscuity/oatmeal colours is my abiding memory of the 90’s

JonHammIsMyJamm · 10/11/2020 16:12

Lots of wallpaper borders too.

@DishingOutDone made that
joke - I see I didn't bold it properly and got the credit for it Blush I've really made a pickle of this thread!

anxiiousone · 10/11/2020 20:31

And I have killed the thread 😢😢😢

pinkbalconyrailing · 10/11/2020 20:39

that 'pink' reminds me of a bad night out - red wine and...

tbh if people like it, great. but think of the amount of coats of paint needed when (not if) you get fed up with the colour.

minipie · 10/11/2020 20:51

@TheNanny23 if you like the colour then get it colour matched by Johnstones - much tougher than F&B. I think it will be hard to get wallpaper that goes with your (lovely) bedding!

It’s called Sulking Room Pink because the word “boudoir” means
“to sulk” so your boudoir is, literally translated, your sulking room.

We have Setting Plaster and Calamine in our house but find Sulking Room Pink too grey/brown and depressing looking. To anyone looking for pinks I would recommend Setting Plaster for a N facing room as it’s really warming (but too peachy in a S facing). Calamine is the opposite, nice in S facing but looks cold in N facing.

Grin at paints called Old Ham, Dry Tongue and Keloid Scar. Next year’s range probably.

I can't remember which one it was, but it was one of Marian Keyes books where the character was big into paint colours - she'd walk into someones house and think Oh, nice hallway - Gangrene if I'm not mistaken, haven't seen it paired with Bristol Chart 5 before

DishingOutDone · 10/11/2020 22:49

Thank Christ someone has actually mentioned my hilarious joke. I was about to flounce!
