... that Donald Flump will no longer be POTUS??!!

One of the only good things to come from 2020!!

My husband and I made a little toast to Joe Biden this evening. Absolutely delighted. Perhaps we are beginning to return to a sane world.

ktp100 · 07/11/2020 20:29

Oh but he won, by A LOT, didn't you hear?!!!

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

See ya, you great big Cheeto-dust coloured baboon of doom!!!!

Echobelly · 07/11/2020 20:33

I mean, just having a mediocre POTUS who looks and sounds like a normal human being and doesn't fill you with rage every time you think about him

RiverMeadow · 07/11/2020 20:34

I can't wait to see him walk out of the WH for the last time.

Dickhead.

@OutOntheTilez - he'll make a lot of noise, but he doesn't have a leg to stand on. I do fear his supporters will do something deadly in 'revenge' in the meantime, and he will, at least tacitly, encourage them to do so.

KitKat1985 · 07/11/2020 20:35

Totally agree. Trump is a completely narcissistic, hateful, spiteful human being who has spread hate and unrest across America and beyond, and he deserved to lose.

somelemons · 07/11/2020 20:35

Our American relatives are beside themselves with joy, and so are we.

Pandemic or not, the world suddenly seems a better place Smile

Justgivemewine · 07/11/2020 20:37

@OutOntheTilez

I've had to live over here with this.

So, so, so relieved.

There's still the problem of getting him to leave in January, however . . .

Nah By January he’ll be busy claiming insanity or some other excuse to get out of any pending prosecutions coming up now he’s no longer potus and Melania will be filing for divorce.
GlassOfPimms · 07/11/2020 20:41

I've had a bottle of prosecco in the cupboard with nothing to celebrate for months! Definitely cracking it open tonight....

I have Trump voting relatives in the US. We don't talk politics as we couldn't be more opposite in our views but they are clearly devastated Grin

Zixxy · 07/11/2020 20:43

He seemed happy on the golf course today, and the wedding party were delighted to be pictured with him too. He is just flipping the bird as usual to ordinary decent people.

One of the wedding party was so excited when he got into the photo she said "I can't breathe"

Think about that one.

somelemons · 07/11/2020 20:43

By January he'll be claiming insanity

I can't see anyone arguing with him about that. Grin

Zixxy · 07/11/2020 20:46

@RiverMeadow

I can't wait to see him walk out of the WH for the last time.

Dickhead.

I doubt he will do that in front of the media at all. Will be gone beforehand and leave the Inauguration to his daughter.

The humiliation of such a departure is not in his lexicon at all.

Well then again, I could be totally wrong, and he could cause havoc until 20th January. Such a man child.

Dignity please.

Defenbaker · 07/11/2020 20:47

YANBU, it was good to see people celebrating, there's been little to celebrate this year.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 07/11/2020 20:47

I normally hate seeing Trump's smug face...but am looking forward to when he finally realises he's lost & there's nothing he can do about it

Scoobydoobywho · 07/11/2020 20:48

I wonder if he will be the 1st ex President to be dragged out of the White House kicking and screaming. Grin

x2boys · 07/11/2020 20:48

Has Donald Trump got a leg to stand on though ? I don't disagree he's vile and he's made a complete tit of himself ,but will any of his law suits come to anything ?

Zixxy · 07/11/2020 20:51

He will leave the WH long before he has to, and decamp to Mar a Largo and hunker down. Staffers who are left will make decisions and just look for his signature where necessary.

And hopefully that will be that. Giuliani is demented so forget any lawsuits working really. Threatening them is different to actually taking them to court. Won't happen.

RiverMeadow · 07/11/2020 20:54

Nah I can't see any court case actually going the distance.

He's lost and he isn't used to losing so for him this is the only way to retaliate.

Huge relief Grin Wine Cake
the one that won by a LOT is thankfully making an even bigger prat of himself now - just hoping its remembered if he resurfaces in four years time.
The real one that won is acting with remarkable self control and patience.

exwhyzed · 07/11/2020 20:56

Nah By January he’ll be busy claiming insanity or some other excuse to get out of any pending prosecutions coming up now he’s no longer potus

That's what all of this is about. He's not going to go down the insanity route but once all legal avenues have been exhausted he will probably refuse to continue to be president until the end of his term on the basis that the system is corrupt and resign.

Step in Mike Pence for the remainder of the term, who will most likely then make a presidential proclamation pardoning Trump for any crimes he may have committed as president.

See Ford/Nixon for precedent

Plussizejumpsuit · 07/11/2020 20:56

I've said this on another thread. I am happy but I really think people are being way too optimistic about this. Biden isn't going to be great like bernie would have been for example. He won't get much done due to the senate. He was a shit choice and considering the abomination of Trump his win was very small.

The republicans will be back in 4 years time with a less incompetent candidate who is equally as facist. Like pence for example who really seems to want Gilliad.

I do find all this celebrating a bit hard to take tbh. Maybe people just don't really know much about American politics and think Biden will be some kind of amazing socialist president? People acting like everything is fine now really are wrong unfortunately.

randomer · 07/11/2020 20:57

I'll never forgive him for caging toddlers.

Plussizejumpsuit · 07/11/2020 20:58

@exwhyzed

I was just talking about this with my partner. We said the same about him stepping down and getting a pardon. Like you say the nixon precedent.

Slimey fucker!

ScienceSensibility · 07/11/2020 21:00

Thank fuck something good has happened in 2020.

A ray of hope, good people can prevail.

I think so much more will come out about Trump in the next year or so. Americans will look back in shame that they ever elected such a horror show as President.

And a big welcome to Madam Vice President-Elect, Kamala Harris. What a role model for little girls everywhere.

bevelino · 07/11/2020 21:02

I am celebrating with champagne, the orange one is no more, ha, ha, haaa.
