You are correct in a sense, the US have never seen a recount that has exceeded 1500, but then the scale of the postal vote this time is off the scale so it is no longer comparable in my humble view.

The sheer scale of the postal vote defines this election as starkly different mama I do not share the view that the lawsuits are at all 'frivolous' you are just churning out media commentary. Even senior democrats concede that there were issues with this election, some more serious than others.

Let the courts decide if there is merit, that is not job with respect.

It is the judges who are declaring them frivolous and without merit because there is no hard evidence of any misconduct. The recounts are just...recounts, and happen automatically when the difference is less than a certain percentage of the votes. And while we will almost certainly see a higher number of variances, I'm betting it will remain within the same percentage of error.
