Hoping so but it’s not over yet x

Even if Biden wins it will be a Pyrrhic victory. The Republicans are on track to hold the senate and they have the Supreme Court. And, despite BLM protests, mishandling of coronavirus, Trump’s numerous gaffes, all the major US media backing Biden, huge amount of cash spent on his campaign, disgruntled Republicans campaigning and voting for Biden, he only managed to win over just half of the electorate. That’s a failure in my book. They even managed to lose Shalala , a one-time rock star of Congress. There must do some soul-searching. It’s time to listen when people express their concerns and stop treating them as idiots and racists just because they do not hold a college degree. I am speaking as a black African woman. Same goes for this country.

earnshaw47 · 05/11/2020 19:23

whatever your personal feelings are about Donald Trump, as far as brexit is concerned , it would have been better if he had won ,Joe Biden has no interest in us

Cam77 · 05/11/2020 19:24

Trump is essentially putting his fking ego and dented pride above the well-being of the entire country. This is exactly why populist shots like him shouldn’t be let anywhere near high office. Same for the prick in Brazil. BoJo isn’t quite the same level but he certainly doesn’t call it out and the misguided populism of the Brexit vote will screw us for a couple of generations at least.

Cam77 · 05/11/2020 19:32

@earnshaw47
Correct, I fear. Unlike the extreme right wing nutters that dragged the country out of Europe, Joe Biden is a centrist and will have a dim view of the whole thing. Plus he will put Ireland’s interests first.

dderrick · 05/11/2020 19:32

I'm hoping Biden doesn't win. He's been on camera not able to remember Donald's name, then he couldn't remember his grand daughters name either. He's got dementia.

You'd rather Trump won then? Because he's... totally stable...?
Janus · 05/11/2020 19:35

@earnshaw47 and that’s why Boris is an utter moron for putting all his eggs with America when an election was imminent. You couldn’t bloody write how stupid he’s been, I bet he’s in a right flap at number 10 today, what an arse he is.

Parker231 · 05/11/2020 19:36

There are polls regarding the fitness of both Biden and Trump to be President. A higher number voted concern over Trump’s physical and mental capabilities.
I get DC’s names mixed up and there’s nothing wrong with me!

Lurkingforawhile · 05/11/2020 19:39

Biden had a stutter when younger, and may still struggle with it. Part of that would be not being able to correct a mistake quickly.

He's not exactly going to be running the country all by himself, with no advisors or a cabinet or anything Hmm
tigger1001 · 05/11/2020 19:42

@Cam77

Biden is going to win Pennsylvania very comfortably, 100k + All the others, including Arizona, look good for Biden but of course he doesn’t need them with Pennsylvania. Hence why Trump‘s team is focusing all the rage on Pennsylvania because that’s the one that seals it totally, likely not even in recount territory.
Can i ask where you see that? Am trying to follow the counts online but still showing trump ahead in Pennsylvania?

Have read a few people on Twitter saying the same thing you are so just wondering if I'm misreading something

Have read quite a few people suggesting trump is suffering from dementia- and that's why he's much less articulate now

Because Trump's lead was 500k. Once they started to count the postal votes it started to drop. Most of the postal votes are going Biden's way, and with 900,000 left to count he only needs 600,000 of those which he should easily achieve.

grannieali · 05/11/2020 19:45

Re Biden and dementia. I don't think a little forgetfulness over names means that. It is normal at his age. However, one of the best loved Presidents was Ronal Reagan and he definitely had dementia, but survived his term in office.

GuillermoVanHelsing · 05/11/2020 19:45

Are you kidding? He's articulate bigly

TheJourneyWoman · 05/11/2020 19:47

Neither was Trump but people only ever focus on him and what a monster he is.

Kljnmw3459 · 05/11/2020 19:47

If PA goes Biden the rest of the states don't really matter but if it goes Trump then it really comes down to Arizona and Nevada.

MadameMinimes · 05/11/2020 19:47

Trump is still ahead by just over 100,000 but there’s 550,000 votes left to count in places where Biden has been winning 80-20. If Biden only needs to win the rest by a little over 60% to win.

MadameMinimes · 05/11/2020 19:48

I mean a little better than 60-40 rather than a 60% margin.

TheJourneyWoman · 05/11/2020 19:48

@ChaToilLeam

Trump is sounding more and more desperate. I wonder what will become of him should he lose.
He will go on the speaking circuit and make millions.

Except Trump sacked everyone within a few months of appointing them. I don't think he ever had a full team did he? Biden isn't stupid, he knows Washington, he knows to surround himself with decent people.
tobee · 05/11/2020 19:53

He's gonna need all the money for all the legal fees, paying tax and debt

TheJourneyWoman · 05/11/2020 19:55

Biden isn't stupid, he knows Washington, he knows to surround himself with decent people.

Does he? He doesn't even know his grand daughter's name apparently. I agree he won't be in charge alone though. He's not capable of it. Those pulling the strings will make sure he's well cushioned and only wheeled out when it can't be avoided.

He forgot her name once.
