To ask if you have a thigh gap?

I need some reassurance that it's quite normal to not have a thigh gap.. it's my biggest problem area!

I'm not much over 5ft tall, weigh around 7st 10.. six 6 due to my small frame but wouldn't say I was slim, probably in proportion, definitely have a bit of a belly and yeah the thighs... as they go up, they curve in together and touch.

I know I'm an idiot.. constantly comparing myself to others and how their legs seem to be not smooshing together at the top!

I'm early thirties but don't remember ever having one.. is it true that the majority of
Women don't and I'm just being overly perfectionist with this?

Yes I know first world problems.. but I feel like I look horrendous in shorts and had to get it off my chest today!

The only people who care about 'thigh gaps' are sad little males

I've never heard any man mention a thigh gap in my life!
I've never heard any male ever say they like a thigh gap.*

Total agree @likeamillpond
This is not male view at all and it would be foolish ( and probably misandry) to think they would come with it. This, I think, comes from female /female magazines who are always trying to make women think their bodies aren't good enough

N0tthe0nlyfruit · 23/10/2020 15:45

I think you are unreasonable to ask. Honestly anyone who discusses it/yearns for it I suspect of having very disordered thinking about their body.

Bwlch · 23/10/2020 16:11

just another obsessive to make your body look more childlike.

Confused I'm pretty sure my hips widened at puberty, not the other way round.

Not even when I was 8 lb under my healthy weight.

bottleofbeer · 25/10/2020 21:23

Oh here we go. You're not womanly if you have one, normal women don't have one, men prefer it if you don't have one.

If you are telling yourself this shit then you want one, don't you? In reality, nobody cares.

likeamillpond · 28/10/2020 08:22

Thigh gap is so 2015.
Isn't it all about the Toblerone??

Seriously, Who makes up this shit

LilacPebbles · 28/10/2020 08:46

A thigh gap isn't down to weight.
You can't change your skeleton. Having one is fine, not having one is fine. What else is there to scrutinise?

No I do not and I love my legs, they're super handy for getting around on a bicycle. Grin
