This appears to be drip feeding into our consciousness. Who or what is behind it and where will it lead us?
It's not a UK thing, either, bit like Build Back Better repeated in multiple countries word for word.

Then I would have said, in October 2019, that you were batshit crazy.

Really? It was always an entirely plausible possibility. We’ve been warned about it for decades.

Emeeno1 · 13/10/2020 13:47

It is the same old same old. The New World Order, The Illuminati, The cowed masses and the elite controllers.

I've done 45 years of this.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, could conspiracy theorists come up with something new.

The World Economic Forum openly spoke about a reset in July. It’s not “the new world order” and all the other stuff that conspiracies say it has been officially announced by WEF lol
Treesofwood · 13/10/2020 16:12

Emeeno1 Why is it a conspiracy theory? What part? The fact I'm not sure what it is actually really about?

Treesofwood · 13/10/2020 16:24

@butterer I'm confused. Why did you link to the book by the CEO of the World Economic Forum and then loads of books about Covid19 being fake and armageddon? What do you see about it?

I've seen posters and stickers.

The World Economic Forum have a plan which they are lobbying for.

They certainly don't sound like the usual tin foil hat wearers.

Butterer I remember the whole 2012 thing. It was December that it was supposed to happen... I woke up in the middle if that night and there was a power cut, so dark, and I did worry that there was a flicker of truth in the whole thing.

Here are a list of companies who apparently are commited to doing good things according to the WEF. Surprised (not really) to see Nestle on there.

Also surprised (Not really) to see Facebook on there lol

I forgot to say that I think it was about a month or 2 ago that Boris Johnson actually Mentioned in one of his talks of a “green industrial revolution” or something like that. I’ll see if I can find it on YouTube or something.

Treesofwood · 13/10/2020 19:04

Did they have a business plan for 2013? Confused

OP posts:
BlueRose18 · 13/10/2020 19:15

@Treesofwood I can’t find the clip but I did just see there was a video of him talking about doing better for the environment with a “Build Back Better” slogan in the background. I just wonder if it’s all part of the great reset. Also the videos that came up when I searched it was mostly Labour talking about bringing the green industrial revolution. Anyway I still wonder if they’re all connected to the great reset 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m wary like you are but I do hope it’s a positive thing for everyone

Treesofwood · 13/10/2020 19:42

There was this speech at UN 74th General Debate? I've skimmed it but not sure I see the Great Reset thing.
www.gov.uk/government/speeches/pm-speech-to-the-un-general-assembly-24-september-2019
The Build Back Better is all over the place too. I wonder if it is a way

OP posts:
Crazymemo · 13/10/2020 23:26

It's the lead up to COP 26
Wef is UN's cheerleader, so all things SDG/sustainable development/climate fight related.

Why do you have to be wary of it? We all know economic/urban development and population growth has come at a cost to Earth and growing inequality etc. We are trying to have our cake and eat it.

Governments can barely get their acts together at home let alone on an international front. It is a complex and urgent problem to solve, though, so it is a good thing that it is in our collective consciousness

I find the other greatreset.com initiative from the marketing comms industry (the epitome of consumerism....) kinda laughable and BS though.. Creative folks measuring "ecoeffectiveness" and sales impact?!

dayslikethese1 · 14/10/2020 09:12

Sounds like some corporate BS to me. They don't actually care about the environment do they. I do wonder whether covid will lead to a reduction in flying which is needed. Its true we can't carry in as we have been.

trytrytrytrytrytry · 17/10/2020 10:51

That is interesting @Ophelia2020

I think that it all sounds interesting, but we need evidence from the government of responsible policies alongside the changes and this is really lacking. All the excitement while we are still in the grips of the pandemic which the UK isn't handling brilliantly seems worrying too.

5G - yes the idea of everyone having access to knowledge and being able to run businesses intelligently whereverthey are in the world s exciting. But we already have an out of control situation on the other side don't we? The dark net is out of control, the criminal activity, the spread of images and videos to do with sexual exploitation of children growing, police can identify users but do not have the time to deal with everyone, the numbers of images growing day by day and getting more and more depraved. Our children having access to completely inappropriate material on the net, use of phones at school and lack of awareness by some people making it harder to parent. The increase and worsening and normalising of porn affecting behaviour and relationships. Addiction to video games affecting relationships. All of this and more is the dark side to the exciting 5g developments - what is the government going to do about all this?

Environment - yes, fine, educate us about how we could do thingsdifferently day to day as individuals - but at the same time make clear responsible policies affecting how big business do things, evidence of more joined up responsible and humane thinking with all governments working together about making sure everyone has the water and food and shelter they need - without shoving responsibility onto us the masses with manipulative videos and buzz words - are we going to see evidence of competent and sensible policies by the government tackling the real cause of the environmental problems and evidence of governments and powerful groups around the world making policies for the greater good?

Holowiwi · 18/10/2020 20:23

We all need to be wary of this great reset.
They will ultimately centralise the power 'in order to get things done'. Whenever too much power is held by a few it has never worked out well for the general population.
Please do not be so willing to give up your rights when the time comes.

PollyPelargonium52 · 21/10/2020 15:37

It's on you tube. World Economic Forum spouting forth. Mind numbingly dull viewing.
