This appears to be drip feeding into our consciousness. Who or what is behind it and where will it lead us?
It's not a UK thing, either, bit like Build Back Better repeated in multiple countries word for word.

The WEF didn't plan the pandemic, but there's little doubt they are harnessing it.

Fizbosshoes · 12/10/2020 19:54

I've heard of it before on MN.....but not in RL....

MitziK · 12/10/2020 19:54

Are they going to try switching the birds off and then back on again?

babygroups · 12/10/2020 19:55

Just following for the bonkers posts

In other news, the earth is flat.

ripples101 · 12/10/2020 19:56

If anyone would have said this time last year (October 2019) that a virus would come along in 2020, which is incredibly contagious but one that the vast majority would overcome, but those in power would lockdown, close all business, education, work, and social life, stop us from seeing friends and family, then a few months later open up, encourage us all to go out, spend, and then blame us for going out and spending, causing us to go into restrictions again, while hospitals would be built but never manned, to protect us but never protect us, while jobs were lost and peopled died and the debt of every country exploded, and citizens would turn on each other, and blame each other and governments, while laws would be put through limiting freedom, and in some cases (Victoria, Australia for example) allow people to be arrested and detained indefinitely for being a potential suspect (think about that) that may go against regulations, all done under the guise of protecting all of us...

Then I would have said, in October 2019, that you were batshit crazy.

Don’t be silly. If the earth was flat, my cat would have done this.

www.weforum.org/great-reset/ it's out there, everywhere. Even a radio advert about it. Or rather mentioning it.

MNHQ should delete threads where the OP doesn't clearly explain in the opening post what the fuck they are on about.
I don't want to read links, I want a concise explanation of what the great reset is.

frumpety · 12/10/2020 20:02

Seen it pop up a few times on Facebook. I think the real reset will be the very mundane and normal practice of making a load of people redundant and then re-employ them on worse pay and conditions. Not nearly as sexy as a good conspiracy, but probably closer to the truth.

bookworm14 · 12/10/2020 20:03

It’s a proposal by the World Economic Forum to take the opportunity presented by COVID to introduce a more ‘compassionate’ form of capitalism, whatever that is.

If it was a sinister conspiracy, would they really have it plastered all over their website?

cabotstove · 12/10/2020 20:04

I clicked that Santander article & I don't think it sounds crazy. Our current economic model isn't working & isn't sustainable however I'm not sure how you fix it.

cabotstove · 12/10/2020 20:05

So they are aiming for a fairer economic model? Why is that a conspiracy?

AdoraBell · 12/10/2020 20:08
Confused
TheSockMonster · 12/10/2020 20:09

@ANoTail

Do the birds need rewiring? So soon?
Grin

I don’t go for conspiracy theories, although I’m sure that corporations and political parties are all scrambling to turn Covid to their advantage. People have always found ways to profit financially or politically from war, disaster and societal upheaval.

Let’s be fair, it reads like even OP doesn’t have a clue what they’re on about! 🤷🏻‍♀️
nevermorelenore · 12/10/2020 20:10

Like the end of Fight Club where they bomb all the banks and reset the debt to zero?

As a stoned teenager, I thought that was the most amazing idea ever.

justasking111 · 12/10/2020 20:11

If it was a reset, Trump is ignoring it and telling everyone to crack on with work rest and play, so they would come out of it better than Europe.

Me too. But then there is a pandemic around every 100 years and lockdowns have been done in the past so if I was a scientist or a historian I wouldn't have been so surprised.
Paralyticattheparty · 12/10/2020 20:13

It’s about sustainability and a sustainable way of living for society, putting the environment, fairness and people’s future first. Doesn’t sound corrupt to me.

The oil companies and the biggest companies in the world are using it as a statement in their pledge to be carbon zero by certain dates

It is an acknowledgement and call to action to take the opportunity to reset capitalism with sustainability and environment as a priority
