To think someone saying they have lost six stone in just over two months

Is lying. They haven’t had weight loss surgery or had a baby. I haven’t seen since person since March so can’t say if they have or haven’t lost that weight but surely it’s not possible to lose weight that quickly.

Depends how heavy they started at.

DustyMaiden · 06/10/2020 12:49

You could if you starved, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Lockdownseperation · 06/10/2020 12:49

It depends on their starting weight. If they were 30 stone to start with then it could be possible.

GreyishDays · 06/10/2020 12:50

That’s about 10lbs a week!

User4647 · 06/10/2020 12:50

I would say maybe about four/five stone overweight?

OP posts:
TheQueef · 06/10/2020 12:51

No.
Unless something drastic like surgery or illness.
That would be a third of their body.

Missandra · 06/10/2020 12:51

If they were very overweight to begin with then yes it’s possible. I lost over that in 10 weeks. Now I weigh much less I only lose about 1lb a week.

BaronessEllaSaturday · 06/10/2020 12:52

If they had massively and quickly ballooned up over lockdown then yes it would be possible to lose it that fast

Lockdownseperation · 06/10/2020 12:52

They would need 1750 calorie deficit per day so they could do it. I doubt it would be healthy.

MysweetAudrina · 06/10/2020 12:54

Good friend of mine has lost 55kg in that same amount of time which is significantly more than that and i have seen him so it's true. He has a lot to lose though.

Gumbo · 06/10/2020 12:55

Perhaps they had a limb amputated? Grin I'm sure one of my legs would weigh a couple of stone...

shitinmyhandsandclap · 06/10/2020 12:55

It's unlikely

Floralnomad · 06/10/2020 12:56

I lost nearly 5 stone in 6 months a few years ago due to illness , it was surprisingly easy went from 16+ stone to 11stone ( size 18/20 to size 12) .

MissMatchedClaws · 06/10/2020 12:56

I make it even more than that!

60 days, 84lbs
That’s 1.4 lbs per day
3,500 calorie deficit to burn 1 lb of fat
Per day!

We’re they doing the Tour de France, or dragging laden sleds across the arctic?

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 06/10/2020 12:57

They do on ‘My 600lb life’. Smile

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 06/10/2020 12:58

I've just googled, and someone lost 100lb in seven weeks on a show called The Biggest Loser. So it is possible, but only if you have your own personal trainer and team of medical experts and literally nothing else to do.

Does she just mean she dumped a tiny, useless DP?

Floralnomad · 06/10/2020 12:58

Obviously that should say nearly 6 not 5 !

movingonup20 · 06/10/2020 13:00

I lost 1 1/2 stones in a month when exh left me but I wasn't really eating (had plenty of reserves so no issue). Can't see how you could loose any more per month and I reduce the speed of the loss after a month by eating healthy small meals

ChronicallyCurious · 06/10/2020 13:01

I’d be a bit Confused but I guess maybe if they had a lot to lose?

I went from 12 stone to 8.10 in three months.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 06/10/2020 13:02

No, it can't be true even if they are hugely overweight. 3 stone a month! Come on!

Imissmoominmama · 06/10/2020 13:02

A friend has just lost 3 stone in 3 months on a keto diet. He did have a lot to lose though.

battlestargalactica · 06/10/2020 13:03

... is trying to sell you something.

Bumble84 · 06/10/2020 13:04

If you think they’re only 4/5 stone overweight, does that mean you now think they’re underweight? I suspect they are over egging the pudding or I’d be really concerned that they might be really ill. Have you checked?

SchrodingersImmigrant · 06/10/2020 13:05

Unless you weight 250 kilo, loses like that are... Well... Not natural. Probably even with that 250kg...

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 06/10/2020 13:09

I but around 3000 calories a day apparently as I'm quite a bit overweight. Calorie deficit is easier when you burn more.

Im happy with my 14-20lb a month loss. Maybe they meant 6kg...
